Excellant location - good for getting around. The lobby, breakfast room and public rooms and service downstairs definitely worthy of a 5* rating. Our "Superior" bedroom was a bit dissapointing to say the least. True, our room (417) had a good view over a main square and this is probably why it was rated superior. Unfortunately the square is also a bus terminus and the double glazing was not able to keep out the backgroung roar of the buses and the traffic accelerating from the traffic lights outside around the clock. There was a tiny bathroom with a "stand in the bath" shower. The bathroom window out to the main square only had a worn net curtain to block the view from below. The twin beds were good but smaller than one would expect. There was one narrow desk that accomodated a TV and various trays making it difficult to find space to work. There was free WiFi in the rooms that got very slow and sometimes unusable at peak times.Cable internet is also available but quite expensive. There was only one accessible electrical socket in the room at floor level midway between the bed and the desk which was too far away to allow a mains lead to reach the desk without causing a trip hazard. Phones, cameras etc had to be left on the floor to charge overnight. The wardrobe was small with only 8 hangers which is not enough for two people staying more than a night or two.
Overall our 4 day break was very enjoyable and we could not fault the service that the staff provided. But the rather tired and basic bedroom was definitely not "superior" or good value for money.Lisbon is a great place for a short break.

I was at the Altis Avenida for a conference in November. It is close to everything, and even though it is across the street from the Rossio train station, the neighborhood is very nice. Taxis were so cheap, we could get anywhere in (or out of) the city for about the same price as bus fare. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful with everything from having clothing pressed to recommending excellent restaurants nearby. The room was very nice with a lovely bathroom, and even though my room was overlooking the main square, it was very quiet. The quality/price ratio was very good. I would stay here again.

In this hotel you should absolutely book a room when visiting Lisbon. Location is very central (bus 1 from the airport, stop at Restauradores / or take a taxi). Walking distance to the heart of the city center and to trainstation. Reception was excellent; friendly staff that brings you to the room - and really wants you to feel at home. Room is spacious - and although I was located on the first floor at the square; did not hear any noise (only bathrooms from rooms adjacent). Beds comfortable. Breakfast buffet is served on the 7th (top) floor - with a terrace. Good breakfast.
Had dinner in the restaurant on 7th on the first night: very good quality (although you can have a portugese dinner a block away for half the price (on the corner is a typical bar; they serve good food and wine for a good price). Al together; great staff, excellent rooms, good breakfast. Will surely be back.

I loved this hotel. The location is perfect for exploring Lisbon, the hotel is stunning, and breakfast in particular was wonderful. But what made it for me were the staff - really friendlly with a can-do attitude - they gave a really personal service. And even though I had a room over the road, the sound proofing was 100% - I slept so well when I was there.

This is one of the best hotel's I've stayed in Portugal. The location is superb: right next to the famous train station (Rossio) and next to the hop on/off tours. The rooms were very comfortable with excellent maid service. Most importantly the staff (unlike in other hotels in Portugal) was very respectable and very helpful on all occasions. When requested iron, the staff brought it up in 5 minutes. Continue the same service guys!

Hotel is highly recommended!

This hotel has been recently updated, and the rooms were clean and lovely. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. It is located right across from the train station, which makes it easy for day trips. The rooms were modern and sound proof. Breakfast was on the terrace level, which is picturesque-looking out at the hills of Lisbon. I would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we arrived by car, the hotel made it a perfect stay. The consierage was there to assist us with our luggage, and take care of parking the car for me,he also delivered it and assisted us with our luggage when we departed! We had an upgraded room with a small balcony facing the square. It was small in size but lacked nothing in amenities. The breakfast on the roof was very good and the service was great!.Our I-pad worked in the room with no probelms at all,the entire hotel staff should be commended for the fantastic job they do!BRAVO!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a smaller design hotel in a fantastic location.
