Train station is just across the street, but no noise whatsoever. Very convenient location. Breakfast is on the cheap side. They say that they have a free internet but I could not get connected and when I went to the reception they took my phone for iPhone by mistake and told me that their internet works fine with any mobile devices except those made by Apple, but when I told them I actually had an Android device they were "surprised" and I was suggested to use internet at Starbucks cross the street. So their internet is never ment to be used....

Stayed for four nights at the end of July, beginning of August. Unfortunately the hotel shuttle times did not work for us, but straight out of arrivals onto the Aerobus (Route 96 bus 1 marked City Centre). 7 euros for two of us and dropped off less than 50 metres to the hotel front door (return back by bus was equally as painless). The tickets also give you 25% off the yellow bus tours if you buy on board or at a couple of other outlets, but not the vendor immediately outside on Restauradores Square. I would not bother with a taxi from the airport unless you have mobility issues or really heavy luggage.

We were given a corner room (ending in 05) with dual aspect windows. Not a big room but enough space and the bathroom was more than adequate. Lots of gilt and black glass/laquer contrasts with the otherwise neutral soft furnishings - very smart. Double glazing works well, reduces the noise to a barely audible hum. Aircon also coped well and the room was a pleasant temperature. The room was spotlessly clean, cleaned and restocked every day while we were out without fail, and turned down while we were out in the evening.

Breakfast was a typical continental spread with a few hot items - scrambled eggs, bacon, garlicky sausages and sliced mushrooms. Fruit juices, breads, yoghurt, fruit, spreads, ham, cheese, smoked salmon, croissants, pain au chocolate and more. Plus pastel de nata - if you don't know what these are yet, you will do when you come home. Extremely moreish and provided at the evening turn down service too. 05 and 04 (or maybe 06) rooms each have their own door, but they share a small foyer with another door so these look like they could be used as connecting rooms.

The location is perfect. Metro literally steps away, bus stops around the square, and Rossio train station metres away too. Easy to walk down the Rua Augusta where the shopping branches off from, and a walk up the hill to Chiado/Baxia. Lots and lots of restaurants in the streets surrounding the hotel and down the back of Rossio square too. The blue yellow bus tour stops at Restauradores too, the purple one and the tram tour start further down near Rua do Comercia. Avenue Da Liberdade stretches out in the opposite direction and has some high end shopping.

The staff were lovely, always pleasant and welcoming, they even found me a corkscrew when we only got back to the hotel at around 2 am after a concert. Special mention to Walter who went out of his way to help with a problem I had with the ATM (the solution to which I'll post in the Lisbon forum).

Can't comment on the restaurant food apart from breakfast as we never ate there. Also not sure on wheelchair access as there are steps up from reception to the lift to the bedrooms and restaurant.

Check in and check out was efficient and problem free. I didn't get to use the hotel shuttle but I was tempted by the Altis Belem once I saw the location (right on the Tagus) - if I had more time I would definitely have gone to use the spa. For me the Avenida is in a better location for getting around though due to the proximity of the metro. The Belem hotel is served by buses, trams and trains, but the Metro doesn't go out that way.

A 7 colinas cared is 50 cents and the daily pass (good for all Carris buses, trams and metro) is currently 3.95 Eur. The yellow bus tours are 25 euro for all 4 tours (including Belem), less the discount if you have the Aerobus ticket.

Only disappointment on the trip was the Casino Lisboa, very smoky and a bit grubby.

But the hotel, fantastic, would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: 05 rooms have dual aspect facing the beautiful Rossio station and Restaurodores Square

Altis Avenida Hotel is in a perfect position: 30 meters from the Underground stop and in the heart of downtown. Service is very good as expected in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast room is at 7th floor with a magnific sightseeing over Lisbon !

Classic bedroom is quite little. The bed is perfect and extremely comfortable. Air conditioner in my room (309) was quite noisy :-(

The personnel was very nice and professional and I want to thank you all.

Nothing overly memorable, but the room was nice and the location was great. A good choice for a quick Lisbon stay!

We had just a short stay in Lisbon and we had choose this hotel because it seemed to be in the city center. It was a very nice hotel with fancy design. We understood it was quite new, very fresh and stylish. I don't think you could stay more central. It was also close to the airport bus. The restaurant was on the 7th floor with a beautiful view. We enjoyed staying here very much.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. The location is wonderful! Rooms have a good size and, most important, are very, very clean. If you you manage to, get a room with a view. This hotel is a bit pricey, but worth it. My parents have been there this year and loved it as well. Very recommended.
