“quality fusion cuisine”
Reviewed March 7, 2014 via mobile

we had our lunch here after visiting the monument, this small restaurant is near the famous pastry shop, in a narrow alley.

overall the quality of food is satisfactory, service is excellent and the choices of wine are very good indeed. we didn't order desserts here coz we were going to grab the pasties, but I did saw other guests enjoying the desserts which seemed not bad too.

“Great find next to Jeronimo Monastery”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Fantastic team of restaurateurs knowing their trade - elegant dishes, great selection of wine, two guys having fun with food, entertainment and running a small restaurant. The Wine List is excellent, for non-connaisseurs of Portuguese wine - simply let them chose!

“Just Voted Best Wine Bar in Portugal by Revista Vinhos”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

I actually went based on the great ratings and hoping to find good food in the area of the Jeronimos Monastery and the Pasteleria de Belem. We were already looking at different wine bars to visit later in the week and then to my surprise we discovered that this place had just won Best Wine Bar 2013 in Portugal by the Revista Vinhos, the main wine magazine in Portugal. What an amazing little jewel. Only seats 16 people, you are attended by a staff of two who tailor the wine to your taste or curiosity, and all wines cost the same (so no ripping off). Selection of wines comes from 100 different bottles from all regions of the country. Some hard to find I am told. Then the food arrived. Excellent. Modern, Portuguese influenced, beautifully presented by the Chef Ricardo that came out later to greet us. We loved the slightly grilled mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. The Vegetable soup was also great, with the vegetables in the middle of the plate and then the soup served around. Risotto and duck confite was excellent, as was the grouper steak. Portions are not too big but plenty. For desert we both had the cream pudding with burnt sugar on top. Excellent value. Great fun. No wonder you won the best Wine Bar in Portugal award!

“Continues to be Outstanding for Wine and Modern Portuguese Food”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

I returned for a business lunch and once again was not disappointed. This is a great place to eat good "modern" Portuguese food while sampling different wines. All wine bottles have a fixed 20 Euro price, and by the glass you pay 4 Euros. Over 100 different wines, carefully selected from all the wine regions of Portugal. Menu had changed to the Fall menu which included a delicious venison dish, creamy risotto with duck confit, among others. Service was excellent and price is very reasonable for what you get. The restaurant is 100 meters away from the famous Pasteleria de Belem, in the Belem area. It is up a narrow street between the main road and the botanical garden. Restaurant is casual and cosy, with seating for only 16. Open all day after 1pm, which is useful if you are visiting the Jeronimo Monastery 300 meters away. Will be back!

“Fantastic Restaurant”
Reviewed February 15, 2014 via mobile

We went there for lunch and we tasted different wines. But the food was simply spectacular! The waiter very nice. The idea to choose the wine on the shelf with binoculars funny. If you go to Lisbon you must go to the Enoteca de Belem!
