we found this great place by accidents in a walking tour in belem streets.
as I saw how small and well kept it is , I just booked us a table in advance.
the menu was varied with fish/meat and vegetarian dishes.
everything we ordered was delicious and well designed on the plate.
the price was really fair ,a meal with 2 soups as a starters 2 main dish (fish & steak) 2 desserts and 2 glasses of white wine , end in a bill of 62 euro.
book a place and GO!

What a gem of a restaurant! You can't go wrong with Enecota de Belem. It is cosy, simple chic and trendy, the service is great and if you are not a wine connoisseur, Nelson is there to help with selections. I was in Lisbon for 7 days and ended up having dinner there thrice...and a lunch! Do make reservations in advance though, it is always booked!

I would stay away from the restaurants with the "big names" in Lisbon (will not name any), I went to a few and I found them to be pretentious and over the top pricey. There are many high quality restaurants in Lisbon without having to pay top dollar, Enoteca de Belem is the best of the rest!

Last time I reviewed this restaurant I called it the best kept secret in Lisbon. Well, you are better off reserving now because it is getting a name for itself. Fortunately the quality, prices and service have not changes. Only 16 places so it fills up fast. They serve food at all times as of 1pm which is useful. Great place to try a number of great Portuguese wines which are recommended by Nelson (speaks English, French, Spanish). All wines are 4 euros by the glass and 20 euros by the bottle. At the end of the meal you get a free port wine. Food is modern portuguese. Right now they have a dish with of creamy risotto and duck confite which is out of this world. Fish and meat dishes remain at a high standard. Restaurant team is friendly, and very professional.

We went straight from the airport to Enoteca de Belem, "checked in" with our luggage. No problem at all.

The owner/waiter is a fantastic social and knowledge person, in all areas. He spent a lot of time chatting with the guests, this means it can take some time before you get his attention again.

But it´s worth it, the food was really good and we let him decide all wine.
Always wine by the glass that worked perfectly with the actual dish served, so simple.

And the price was surprisingly low.

We decided to eat here because of the great reviews but soon realized that this all just clever marketing. First off, it is the size of a closet at around 5 tables. This gives it the appearance it is always busy. It is primarily a wine bar but has NO WINE LIST! This provides the perfect cover for the establishment to promote slower moving wines under the guise of a tailored selection. The waiters pretend to open bottles based on your taste preference but in reality this is just a "dog and pony show". Worst of all, the food is mediocre at best and overpriced for what it is. All in all just a real let down.
