Don't let the modest location and the interiors fool you - this is solid, homemade Portuguese cooking. I had the Massada de Marisco which is like a seafood broth soup with clams, prawns and macaroni. Absolute heaven... Can I go back for some more please?
Everything else ( like Prawn cocktail and Paella) was brilliant and felt very authentic, not many tourists there when we were there.
Book ahead, it gets busy and we know why.

I have eaten dinner there a few times when I go on a business trip to Lisbon. Their seafood risotto is absolutely amazing! Its quite big, so you can share with 1 or 2 people. The price might be a little bit more expensive as a lot of tourists go there.

On a blustery March afternoon, after stomping about the Alfama, we almost didn't stop for lunch as we wanted to get to the Gulbenkian before picking up our rental car. Wholly guided by Frank Bruni's NYTimes love letter to Lisbon, we did.

With a delicious, cheap bottle of Adega de Borba house red (found it in a grocery store for 3 € later) and a starter soup of creme de marisco, we shared the Steak Pica Pau, which was utterly fantastic. Sopping up charred bits of steak, olive oil and garlic with hunks of bread probably didn't do my arteries any favors, but, my soul? It was nourished. Our lunch bill totaled 30 € or so - for 2? Utterly reasonable on a holiday in my eyes.

We visited this restaurant to have lunch and paid 96 euros!!! for 2 people. We had ordered sea bass but they brought us another fish. Be careful with grams weighting fish. The grams were absolutely higher than the actual weight of the fish just to get more euros from this. When we claimed our money back they just taken out some grams from the receipt!! That was very petty... Very poor quality of the dishes and sweets... Not recommended at all. There are better fish restaurants in town with more reasonable prices.

We were recommended this restaurant for seafood. Within 10 minutes of arriving we regretted our decision to eat here. Many restaurants in the tourist area of Lisbon provide a poor standard of food and service. Pinoquio took the number 1 spot for the worst service we experienced whilst visiting Lisbon. The atmosphere in Pinoquio was competitively macho between the waiters, cold and abrupt, not a smile anywhere and quite intimidating at times depending on which waiter serviced our table. There was one other table of tourist diners apart from us that evening, the other tables being local Portuguese customers. The local diners were welcomed and received a better standard of service. It was obvious the restaurant much preferred having locals in and resented tourists. Food was average and the bill was high. We ate out for the 5 nights we stayed in Lisbon and found better places in the little streets of Bario Alto where the food was great, service warm and friendly and prices far more reasonable. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a relaxing evening with good food. Try Sinal Vermelho on Rua das Gaveas instead - an excellent little place with polite helpful service and great food.
