Great place to have a "journey" through 7 (I think!) tasty dishes. Watch out the wine guy.. he can easily 2x the bill!

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences i've ever had. Fantastic and innovative food, attentive and relaxed waiters. We chose the premium wine pairing with the food (35 for regular wine menu, 60 for premium) and we weren't dissappinted. This was a suberb night and definitely worth the money

It's a brave chef who offers only a tasting menu and surely only those who tend towards being omnivorous can be confident of enjoying the experience. I understand that the menu is seasonal and will change from Winter-Spring in March.

Happily, my choice of restaurant for Mrs Safe's birthday surprise suited both our tastes 'to a T'. The staff were professionals, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu served to us was biased more to fish/seafood than to meat dishes though both were featured and we found it genuinely exciting: some of the combinations of textures and flavours were not just unusual but truly inspired. We opted for the 'regular' rather than 'premium' option of matching wines and were very happy (!) with what was served and for the informative and friendly approach of the sommelier.

At Euro170, this was by far the most expensive meal we ate in Lisbon and also by far the best in both flavour and presentation. Our only surprise was to find that we agreed that it was also the best value.

If guests have particular aversions/allergies the chef will take account of that in preparation of your meal but if you're generally not inclined to be adventurous in your eating habits or if you like to see large portions of food on your plate for every dish you eat then you might find better value elsewhere.By the end of our dinner we were certainly very satisfied with the quantity and quality of what we had eaten and we both enjoy healthy appetites.

I went to this restaurant because of TV program of Antonio Bourdain. Well, it's true that he didn't say "This is amazing" but I was expecting to have a great culinary experience.
The restaurant charges 45€ per person for fixed menu of several dishes (menu degustação). In Portugal, you can eat at great restaurants for that price, including wines, deserts, etc.
I can not say that food was terrible but it was just OK. Major part of dishes didn't look like freshly served. It looked like they were left for 15 to 20 min before serving to us. I could understand this if we were a big group but it was only I and my husband. And for 45€, it has to be fresh!!!!!!!
We also saw the wine list and there was this wine that at the supermarket costs like 3 euros and they were charging 25€ .... It's just too much!
We went there to celebrate my birthday but it was true desappointment.
The service was average. The waiters were nice but not genuinely nice ....
In the end, we paid 125€ for both of us and I left there sad because my expectation was not met ....

Dear Costumer,
It is with sorrow that we read your review and understand that you were not pleased with the experience of visiting us. The main reason why there is a 100 Maneiras is precisely to give people the chance to try great, different food at reasonable, accessible prices. Although it is true that, in Portugal, there are many places where you can have dinner for less than 45€, we don’t know any haute cuisine restaurant that offers a tasting menu at our prices. Considering that we’re talking about a nine course meal, each dish will only cost 5€. Even so, we understand that some might find it expensive. However, we can not understand the critics to the quality of our food. Since it opened in Bairro Alto, 100 Maneiras has been constantly recognized, both by press and clients, as one of Lisbon’s – and Portugal’s – best restaurants. Quality means the world to us and that means the best products, the best team and the best service. It is a reflex of who we want to be and we want to be better and better and, for that, we always look for the best. We're sorry you didn't feel that way. Regarding the wines, we also have to say that the situation you mention is impossible, since we don’t have any wines in our list that cost less than €6 at the supermarket. There is, of course, a difference in the prices of the wines at the restaurant and at the supermarket: in our restaurant, you not only pay the service (in Portugal, the service is always included in the cost of the meal) but also a higher tax than you’d pay at supermarket for the same product – you can blame the government for this.
In conclusion, we can only regret your bad experience and hope that, if you ever visit us again, you’ll leave with a smile, like people usually do around here. Thanks for your review and our very best regards,
Fausto Lopes
