Description: The Madragoa Cafe is a place where you can find a traditional Portuguese cuisine, where the products used are fresh and Portuguese. The predominant wines are from the Douro region, however it is possible to find wines from other regions. The dishes are a selection of some of the best that each region of Portugal has to offer. The desserts are traditional and some are made at the restaurant. The affection with which clients are received, that comes from the heart. See you soon!

We stumbled across this amazing restaurant near our hotel on our last night in lisbon. The menu was only in Portuguese but the owner went through the menu with us and recommended some typical Portuguese dishes.
The food was amazing! We had a typical Portuguese steak and sausage and it was really good. The wine was excellent (also recommended by the owner) and the desseet was to die for! Definitely go for the home made cheesecake.
All in all a wonderful way to end our stay in Portugal - great good, service and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Was looking for a simple, not at all fancy place close to my hotel where locals would go for a good meal. Found Madragoa café here on Tripadvisor, and that previous visitors were very happy with this place. I am next in line! Relaxed atmosphere, simple, nice owner, very well priced, and good food. Recommend their own cod dish! Next time return with my wife!

A group of 4 had dinner at the Madragoa by stumbling up the road on a Monday night. Most of the street was closed off, but this cosy little place caught our eye. There were no other people in the place, but we decided to give it a try.
After a few minutes trying to decipher the menu in Portugese, we were delighted to be led through the menu in English by the chef. After we had ordered, the place began to fill up and each of the patrons were greeted the same way we were. A perfect introduction!
Each meal brought out was extremely well done and our waiter spent a lot of time explaining each dish. We got on really well with our hosts and had a great time. Highly recommended!
