“Unique Location for Great Typical Food”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

This Enoteca (Wine/Appetizersà is located at a dead end street called Mae d'Agua (Mother Water)...It tells already everything. This was a former water reserve for the city. This is a unique place to have wine, appetizers, whatever,. Just a few tables inside, a few outside too but inside is a must. Book in advance just to be sure. The food is local, typical and very yummy. Wine is from all over Portugal. Reedeem yourself for a great experience.
price may be a little hign but nevertheless the location deserves it :-)!

“good place for wine in lisbon”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

As other reviewers have noted, this is a unique place. Located inside part of an old aqueduct, it offers a nice classy atmosphere, wine-bar-style food, and a very good selection of wine (including some older bottles). Recommended.
Special note for serious wine lovers: definitely worth a visit! However, since the wine list is managed by one of Portugal's most well-known wine critics, it tends slightly towards the "big names"... for the smaller, funkier producers try "Os Goliardos," just down the street.

If you're a wine lover you must visit this amazing spot! Not just for the beauty and simplicity (inside the aqueduct) but also for the great wine and cheeses selection.

“A Hidden Treasure for Foodies!”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

The friendly owner of this wonderful restaurant wants to keep it a secret, but it was just so good I wanted to share it with others! It was a wee bit tricky to find as the sign is discrete to say the least, but once you step inside it is worth the effort! It is in a converted stone bath house, nicely lit and with minimal but comfortable furniture. The menu is unlike anything we came across in other places and I would recommend ordering a variety of tapas between you and sharing, so everyone gets a chance to enjoy the flavours and textures. We loved the Breasola and the dates wrapped in bacon with a ginger and orange sauce especially. There are also 3 tasting menus on offer with matched wines. There is a great selection of Portuguese wines and the desserts (e.g. pears poached in Port) were just delicious! What really made our experience special though was the warm welcome of the owner, who is clearly passionate about her food and who gave us excellent recommendations for wines that were not automatically the most expensive. So glad we visited this place!
