“Amazing hostel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

This place was amazing, and surpasses any standards one may have.
The location is beyond perfect, the rooms are clean, spacious, and it is very safe.
Hands down the best breakfast I have had in a very long time, be it in a hostel or hotel! But the best part, the people who work there really tend to all your needs and give great advice. Make sure you go on the night walking tour to listen to Fado, it is really amazing.

Not just the best in Lisbon, but has to be one of the best hostels in the world. I stayed in the hostel one night and in a studio up the street a couple other nights. This is one of the most welcoming places I've ever stayed. The staff are very friendly and helpful, often organizing events at night such as wine nights, chorizo dinners, etc. The location is top notch and very safe, within walking distance of the majority of the key sites. The street the hostel is on gets very quiet at night, but great bars and other nightlife are only a 10 minute walk away. Everything about the hostel felt very welcoming, especially the other travelers, which stems from the great job done by the staff to make everyone feel at home. Even though I stayed up the street at the studios a few nights it was still perfectly fine to come back down to the hostel any time. The hostel even organizes day trips out to Sintra, which is well worth the trip.

Room Tip: The hostel also has a few studio apartments up rua augusta that are a great value for more privacy...

After backpacking throughout Europe travellers house really stands out as a great hostel. What made it stand out were the staff. They were so helpful, knowledgable and friendly. They created a warm and welcoming atmosphere which rubbed off on all the guests. We made some great friends which led to some great times. The hostel was clean, organised and had good facilities. The beds were big and comfortable, the showers hot with good pressure and clean. Great free breakfast in the morning with cereal, toast and your choice of freshly cooked bacon and eggs or pancakes. The wifi actually had good reception and there were both computers and iPads to use for free. There was a TV room and chill out area complete with games and a library. Its location is great and central. And all at a really decent price. Thanks guys for a great stay.

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in my life. Clean, quiet, great staff and nice parties. It is located at Augusta Street, right at the center of Lisboa and from walking distance to many tourists spots. I would definitely stay there when I return to Lisboa.

Room Tip: Any room will be nice.

As a female traveller backpacking Europe alone, I found comfort (and two people from my hometown) in this hostel. I also made many friends here that I am still in touch with. First of all, you can't beat the location. Right in the centre of the action. I highly recommend the design museum across the street and walking to the water. Must eat the fish from many of the local restaurants the hostel will recommend to you. I found all the staff to be super friendly, knowledgeable, and from around the world. Definitely do the hostel activities like the wine tasting! Breakfast was outstanding. It's really nice to get a warm breakfast seeing as most hostels do the bare minimum. The facilities were always clean...sometimes there's a line up for the bathroom but either than that, this hostel is a win!

Rua Augusta is a pedestrian street. The Hostel is on the first floor, you must take the stairs to get to the reception. You also have stairs to get to the room. It is in a central location. The place is clean, they clean the bathroom regularly. The staff wants to make sure you have all the information that you need. They are very friendly and helpful. They hold events nightly for the guests to socialize. They offer tours. For example, I went to Sintra: both the tour and guide were great. The Fado’s tour is a must-do thing. The guide was great. I was there in April, 2013.

Room Tip: The Hostel has Stairs.
