Cannot sing enough praise for the Travellers House. The staff, rooms, breakfast and events are absolutely great. If you're looking through a bunch of hostels in Lisbon, look no further. You've found the best!

Deciding to stay at Travellers House was the best decision ever. Not only the hostel is located in a great and central location, the people running the place, namely Jota, Giu, Nina and Georgia not only made you feel welcome but were extremely helpful and friendly. Apart from the clean room and bathroom, their breakfast was really good as well, especially the pancakes :) I definitely recommend this place for those looking for something cosy, affordable and a great way to meet fellow travellers. Keep up the good work!

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. The rooms were quiet, staff where very helpful and knowledgable about the city and the free breakfast was excellent. Common area was great for relaxing. When we stayed we went along on two of the hostel organised night events. Great fun and good value. It's also a great location for the historic district.

I stayed here over the Easter long weekend with 3 friends for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location was great and the breakfast was good - especially the pancakes with chocolate sauce! The staff are so lovely and very helpful - giving us great tips on the non-touristy places and the must do and see's. The hostel itself has a very homely yet funky fun feeling. I HIGHLY recommend doing the pub crawl with the hostel guide - we had THE best night going to some of the tiniest but best 'pubs'

The dorms were well presented but could have done with a cupboard or a shelf to put things on or hang things up. And if like me - you like to sleep with 2 pillows, you may want to ask for a spare one as they are very small, but these are pretty minor details.
The only real 'problem' we had was when the last guest to our room was given permission to go back and get her iphone charger that she's left behind while we were out - only the cleaner had taken hers and in turn she took our friends charger. Little bit of an inconvenience for a few hours as we tried to get back said charger but again quite minor.
All in all a great stay and i would go back again.

I stayed here for 3 nights. Accessed from Rua August's...ring bell and walk up to first floor reception area. Very central and close to all public transport....trams, buses and metro. I stayed in a single (double bed) on the top floor....5 floors! There are three rooms up there and you share a shower room and toilet. Also own sitting area with tv and dvd, and has a fully equipped kitchen although I didn't use it. Very clean. Quiet room as I was at the back. The communal areas on first floor are very welcoming and a very sociable area. Only issue is the hike up to the top floor.....but this is Lisbon and majority of the traditional buildings area comprise several floors and don't have lifts. Bean bags, sofa's too comfy, free Internet, tv, help yourself to drinks (pay when you check out), can leave bags once checked out, good breakfast.....cereals, egg, bacon, toast, hot drinks available all day. Staff were really nice, chatty, helpful, very welcoming. Total mix of guests, very sociable. They arrange nights out, various events, day trips etc etc but you don't feel like you have to join in if it's not your thing. Definitely recommend getting lost in Lisbon....you just don't know what you may find. Great city....great Travellers House.....definitely more than your typical hostel....

Room Tip: 'single' room on top floor at back was quiet, comfortable bed, a heater, bed side table but...

We stayed here over the Easter Long weekend for 4 nights and had a great time.
The Hostel is beyond clean, possibly the cleanest one I've ever stayed in. The breakfast was great, and the public area is great for lounging and socializing. Pretty much every staff member new everything there was to know about the city, bar one. The location is perfect. 5mins walk to Baixa/Chaida station, walking distance from the Old Town, and the Bairro Alto (nightclub) district, the bus station to the airport and Tram to Belem. They also organise walking tours and dinners with all the guest. We joined in on the night out in Bairro Alto and had great fun exploring little bars.

The only downfall was the lack of sleep. Their pillows are tiny, flat, and your head sinks all the way to the bottom-so we asked for 2 which made it a bit better. But whats worse is the walls are pretty much made from paper. You can hear everything. We didn't even need even need to create our own entertainment, the American girls next door supplied enough gossip, conversations and music for our entire stay, and when they left, the cleaners took over.

Room Tip: Clean, Fun and Great Staff but hopefully you don't want to sleep.

I'm an hostel squatting girl....I travelled accross Hostesl in 3 continent. But probably since now the best place were I slept. Amazing staff, that waiting for us. Our room (me and my friends rent a twin) with shared bathroom, was cleaning and warming, with an amazing wiev of rua augusta. Jota welcoming us and show all hostel facilities and activities. We endorse an amazing night walk with a bar tour and listened Fado. Breakfast was amazing (probably need more marmelade choose) with all that u can eat in crepes and bacon and eggs. Common space are big and confortable. Thanks to Jorgen for the tips about lisbon and Belem (famous sweet of belem). Internet good, clean bathroom (problably need some tent) to separing bathroom aera from shower. And a lot of activities and friendness staff... To coming back asap
