I've stayed in this hostel last month and it was my best experience ever! The hostel is cool, clean, the activities are great and the staff is amazing! I also stayed at one of their studios, and it was also great - it was so cozy and perfect that I would live there! Special thanks to Gui, Rui, Samuel and Silvia - you were great! xxx, Ana

We stayed at the Travellers House in May 2011 for 2 nights. It was the perfect stay. The location cant be beat and there is a nice little bakery super close by. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the staff was super helpful. I was travelling with 4 others and we stayed in a 6 bedroom dorm with a shared bathroom. It was a climb up the stairs with luggage but it was worth it. I always felt safe and they provided locker/drawers under the beds where you could lock up your bags. The staff told us to go to Belem to eat their wonderful tarts and to check out the Belem tower. The tarts at Cafe Pasteis de Belem are amazing and the tower was pretty cool. We also took the little tram around. The oceanarium was also great and worth a visit.

Room Tip: If possible pick a room further from the entrance from the stairs. Our room was right at the stairs...

I thought the location of this hostel would be the main draw, but I was proved wrong. The winning element for this hostel is the staff - Amazing. Always there to help you out, provide direction and ideas of things to see and do. Willing to spend time talking though places to go, how to get there and also pointing out little gems which are missed by the more mainstream tourist guides. The social events each evening were a great way to get to know other travelers and always great value! Each event is different, and enjoyable, you can get involved if you want, but no pressure if you are doing your own thing - and you cant fault the €2 happy hour - drink until the keg is empty, then go for a few drinks locally!
The hostel itself has so much - tv room, internet room, music / common dining area, kitchen, option to use the hostels ipads and even hire a Segway if that's your thing! Perfectly located in Lisbon, close to bus, rail, tram and metro lines! I cannot recommend highly enough.
the room I stayed in was a 6 bed dorm - individual lights and plenty of power points of needed, padlock and key provided for the decent sized storage space under the lower bunk - and even a safe is provided! Showers and toilets are share with other rooms, but are always clean and tidy, if a little cramped.
All in all a great little hostel made excellent by the staff!

Cannot fault this place. It has everything you can ask for and more. Breakfast is included, which is eggs, toast, cereal and coffee/tea. It is a long climb up to the fourth floor, but you will get used to climbing hills in Lisbon anyway. They have ipads available for your use and free wifi all over the building (we could even get it on the fourth floor). We stayed in a private room, which is like a mini apartment upstairs that you share with 3 other people. It was great.

They organise something each night which is usually 6.5 euro and includes drinks and or food. When we stayed there was a tapas night, wine night and a pub crawl. The staff are also very helpful and are more then happy to give you some good tips for eating ect. Would definately recommend.

This hostel was great! The staff was SO friendly. Gave us really excellent recommendations of things to do with our short stay in Lisbon, really helped us make the most of it. The hostel was really nicely spaced out, there was a large dvd collection and good quality computers to us and fans in the rooms. The kitchen was full of great supplies for cooking. The hostel was so central, right in the middle of everything, an easy walk from the train station and a quick bus ride to the airport. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who is thinking of going to Lisbon. Really excellent value for the quality of the stay. The rooms and bathrooms were also so clean.
