“Worse Sushi in Lisbon - avoid at all costs.”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

Likewise you would not want your Portuguese restaurant to be run by Japanese, you certainly do not want Portuguese to run a Japanese restaurant. €16.50 for a set menu of such poor quality, without drinks, is radically expensive. We paid €38 and left when the second course arrived. There are only two real Japanese restaurants in Lisbon and they are not great, merely average. The plethora of others range from vaguely Japanese to totally not Japanes.

Anyway, Tsuki has nothing to do with Sushi. In my books Hillman mayo and vinaigrette should not be part of the experience and I have difficulties with mixing strawberries with raw fish and parsley. Fried spring rolls with its sweet chilli sauce is Chinese and I have no idea what were these mushy fried whatevers served as a starter. But it could be me being narrow minded...

But at least one thing was predictable : the loo smelled like... well, loos. Perhaps adding a door to separate them from the dinning area would be a good idea...

In short, this place is definitely a "no go". if in Rome you do as the Romans, eat pizzas, in Lisbon, do as the locals, eat Portuguese, you can't go wrong.

PS: the photo is totally misleading, it is of another restaurant.

“solid”
Reviewed September 5, 2011

solid quality, i had the moriawase set for 2 persons, standard variety of tuna, salmon and dorade nigiri and maki. the tempura style maki was a nice try of being 'fusion', the strawberry maki was weird. rice was weakly seasoned (maybe something that is locally preferred by portugese people?), for me as sushi expert hardly accetable. but fish was fresh and also well cut (the chef knows what he is doing). far away from being a 'wow', but taking the price in account (30 euros for 2 person portion of moriawase) it is definetly worth a visit if you are around. takeaway is possible! price starts at around 15 euros for 1 person, so ignore the pricing classification tag that is stated in tripadvisor.
