“Quite nice hostel in the heart of Lisboa”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

The hostel is located in the heart of Lisboa which means you are in the vibrant center of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You have lots of cafes, restaurants, delis, etc. nearby, if you wish to go out at night, you are a stonethrow away from the epicentrum of bars and clubs. The hostel itself is very clean and very secure. The details in the decoration are very nice. Negative: the wifi signal is not the best in the double rooms. What I didn't like was that you hear almost everything from the hallway when you are in the room. As I stayed there in summer you can imaginge that it was very hot, but it was impossible to open the window as there was a constant noise. As you can imagine, I had some sleepless nights... Somehow I found the atmosphere in the hostel a bit pretentious.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the backyard have A/C noise

With only one evening to spent in lisbon, i once more choose the poets hostel. One step from the metro exit. At the base of the best area for a night out including some fado if you are lucky. Clean hostel with lots of room to leave your stuff, and max only 6 people per room. Breakfast ready in time. Free wifi. Only drawback this time was that the elevator was not working, and the hostel is at the top floor of high building. Not easy with a heavy suitcase.

I stayed in this ho(s)tel for 11 days in juli 2012. Booked a single room and didn't know what to expect. In one sentence, i can only say great. The hostel might be a little difficult to find at first, because it's in a multifunctional buiding. Once you get there, it almost has the luxury of a hotel in a hostel laid back atmosphere. Very friendly staff offering lot's of facilities. Each day they organize activities which is nice when you travel alone. I booked a single room. Al rooms have their own theme. Very creative! Above all it's very clean and on my floor there where 4 bathrooms. Though fully booked, i didn't have to wait for a single time. Breakfast was simple but good. Be sure to visit the kiosk on the square on the right. They've got great espresso! For the American readers of this review, European beds are smaller and we're not so spoiled lol ;-) just kidding.. Just go and book this hostel. It comes highly recommended by me.

Once you find this hotel hidden on an upper floor of an office building, you will be very grateful for your reservation. There large room hostels are on the office floor with kitchen and open recreation room. The privates are a floor below. The location is great and the staff provided advise, social events, and tours.

We've been in Lisbon Poets Hostel just for one night in a double room. Great room and great place! Located in a good part of Lisbon, near to metro etc. We've had a great meal at the Poets, just voor 6 or 7 euro, cooked by themself and Sangria was included! The only thing I didn't like - just a little bit - was the price: 55 euro for one night. But if that doesn't matter: go there!

Found the Hostel when we turned up in Lisbon with no where to stay! Thought it had an interesting name, although we almost gave up when it was proven difficult to find. It being on the 5th floor of a building is deceiving to say the least. What lies above the streets, is much larger and more homely than anything I'd have thought of finding.
Absolutely fantastic staff, who couldn't do enough. With the offer of joining in activities with the other customers of the Hostel. Our room was comfortable, clean and colourful, a locker was available, along with an option of a duvet or a sheet already on your bed!
You have the option of using the kitchen to cook, and a fridge to store your food! There is also an option of joining in on the 8pm dinner with everyone for a small fee and a variety on the menu.
Next to that, a large lounging area. Bean bags, sofas and even a hammock. With 4 large windows looking out onto the bustling street below.
The bathrooms were down the hall, the shower cubicles are separate from the toilets, the same with the ladies. Everything absolutely sparkling clean.
They've really taken pride in their hostel, and it has really paid off!! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, wish there was one in every country.

Room Tip: Try and get a room down the right from the reception, otherwise you can hear the street entertainers...
