I discovered this hostel during a week end break with friends in Lisbon. The hostel has an excellent location in the center of the town as it is near the historical center and also near the night life area of "Bairro Alto". The place is very nice, well maintained by a very nice crew. I particularly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and will definitively come back!

Friendly welcome by JP to this quirky hostel. Stayed in room 1923 -shared bathroom- and room 1979 ensuite. We loved both of them.
On Saturday night the next street down was buzzing has 3 restaurants recommended in the Lonely Planet virtually next to each other.

The place is just terrific: in the centre of Lisbon, large bedrooms, clean rooms bathroom and an amazing kitchen you can use to have dinner, etc.
i mean enjoy the meal with them and everyone is there;

Because the greatest thing of the Lisbon Calling is the people you meet there
The staff is a group of friends, and everyone who goes there become a friend;
very interesting people, for instance they have an incredible taste of contemporary music and they know what's happening in Lisbon, they know the city (and Portugal as well) better than anyone else, they know how to have fun make parties and enjoy new people!
I mean they were the best mentor i could meet.
Let me explain you why:
There were my first days as an Erasmus student in Lisbon, no fun and just despair since i wasn't able to find a room to live - couldn't understand a word of Portuguese and the Erasmus office was simply useless! But here come my saviours! At the Lisbon Calling, they introduced me to a friend of them who had a room to rent - he was/is just a wonderful person as they are, very funny to be with!

For the price you would normally pay for a shared hostel room in an European city, we could now have a double bed room.

Ours (rm 1987) I think was the smallest, and next time I would definitely take a larger room. It wasn't cramped or anything, but there was little space to get around the bed to get to the other side of the room. I also missed some space to put my things on. Especially if you stay for a longer period of time, it might get annoying to not be able to put things out of your suitcase.
Also I missed having a water tap in my room. The bathroom is on the other side of the appartment, so that was a little annoying.
The room is including breakfast, this consists of two buns delivered to your door. It's not very interesting, but there is also a kitchen to prepare your own food and plenty of places nearby to get breakfast out!

But this is all just nitpicking! I loved staying here. The hostel is very central, it's close to the busstation, where a bus to the airport leaves, and close to metro and tramlines. A lot of the major sights are within walking distance.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and easy to approach.
The bed was comfortable and the room, shower and kitchen were all clean. The whole atmosphere is very laid back and friendly and I liked all the little touches the decor had to make it unique.

I've been to several hostel all around the world and this place is some of them that feels like home. I stayed there on my first visit to Europe and thanks to the staff there, I really enjoyed Lisbon.

Cleanliness is always my priority in choosing a place to stay, Lisbon Calling won't dissapointed you! The bed is comfortable and spacious enough for me. Free warm bread every morning is a big plus!

I will definitely come back there in my next visit to Europe, hopefully next year.
