The hotel is very well located (just a few steps from Marques do Pombal station), with easy access to the airport and downtown. The room is very clean and confortable. The staff is always helpful. The breakfast is simple, but very good.

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel when visiting Lisbon for the 2nd time. I chose the hotel because of the rate and reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. The room was nice (although a bit small) with everything new...We had a view to the garden inside the hotel, which was OK. The location is a big plus: although there are no restaurants next door, you can just hop on one of the buses that stop downstairs or take the metro to Rocio and other areas. The hotel has a really good all you can eat breakfast at an incredible rate... I'd definetely stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the park

This hotel is conveniently located near the metro station which is cheap and easy to get about in Lisbon. It was also well located for the sightseeing bus hop and hop off tours (literally across the road from the hotel) which cost 18 euros for 2 days and are an excellent way to get orientated with Lisbon and are split into 2 separate tours. But on with the hotel review! We were located on the ground floor at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. The room was spacious, modern and clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was exceptional value for money and unlike in some budget hotels there was an unlimited supply and a variety of cooked food, breads, cheese, ham, croissants, cakes and sweets, hot and cold beverages. My only tiny niggle would be on getting back to the hotel at 4pm the first day and three pm the second day the hotel staff were only starting to clean the rooms on our floor but this was probably because our rooms were on the ground floor and last to be cleaned. All in all this was good value for money and there was a good bar in the sister hotel for a drink. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel were quiet. The compromise is there is no view but you can't expe...

Our group of 4 stayed at the Fenix Garden over xmas period for 1 night and all four liked the hotel. The rooms were very clean, tastefully decorated, and we particularly appreciated the wooden floors in the room instead of the common carpet. The bathrooms were well-sized (ours w/shower) and our room was on 1st floor facing the back of the building which proved to be very quiet. The staff was very helpful and suggested we park our larger sedan in the adjacent hotel to facilitate parking. From the HF Garden one can get to the Baixa (down-town) in approx. 15-20 min walk and approx. 15 min walk to Amoreiras (shopping mall on top of hill). There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity and it is adjacent to the Av. da Liberdade so just 10 min walk from the Tivoli Theatre. Breakfast offered a sufficient choice of both cold and hot food (eggs, bacon, toast, etc) and "cherry on top": Nespresso! :) A very good value and most practical location. My new pied-à-terre in Lisbon!

Literally a minute from the underground metro station, excellent location. Lovely breakfast spread which is worth much more than what they charged us. Cannot fault the service, Lovely clean rooms (certainly looked better than 3 star). Easy check-in and check out. The hotel also arranged for our car rental. I am sure there are better hotels, but for what one pays this is great value for money. I will not hesitate to recommend it.
Only criticism is the nearest grocery store is about a 15-20 minute walk uphill...becomes an issue if you are travelling with young babies. But all in all pleased with the hotel/ service.

Second time in the HF Garden in Lisboa. It is still an excellent bargain, we've payed 58 EUR/night with breakfast. But it is always good to remender that, the hotel is a 3star, with a 4star room but with no amenities such as a gym or pool.

Room Tip: If you prefer silence (and cheaper rooms) choose ones facing the back side of the hotel (IE the gard...

I visit Lisbon almost every year, and this time I stayed at HF Fenix Garden, and I think thats where I will be staying for good. I have stayed in better hotels in the city, but always more expensive. The HF Fenix Garden is entirely new and repaired (as his competitors that offer the same price arent), the room is simple but new and clean. The parking was cheaper than other hotels. Breakfast had a small selection of bread, fruits a cake, jams, cereals and 3 or 4 kinds of bread. Near the heart of the town, right next to the marques de pombal metro station that can lead you right up to Chiado and El corte Ingles. I will definetly stay again :)

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
An urban haven where the commotion does not enter. To enjoy the city does not mean you need to do without some peace and privacy. The HF Fénix Garden provides the desirable paradox of staying in the heart of Lisbon and feeling protected from all stress. The referential acoustic insulation allows you to observe the city bustle from the window as if it is not real. A strange feeling of seclusion kept in the wide aisles and common areas where, even if the hotel is full, you can feel peace. The decoration and comfort of the HF Fénix Garden make you forget the city and even that you are in a three star hotel. Something that you will only remember on check-out. Very closed to the hotel is Marquês de Pombal, several of Lisbon's main points of interest and all the transportation networks in the city. The HF Fénix Garden offers several free services, such as Internet access in the entire hotel. But the most surprising offer is the feeling of staying in an oasis in the middle of the city. ... more   less
