Bright and clean rooms and a super friendly staff.
Every room has its own atmosphere and style, most are a bit small, but cosy.

The common area is very relaxed, you can read, play chess and the breakfast is simple but nice.
The location is great to explore Lisbon's downtown, which is beautiful.

Highly recommended for short stays.

Room Tip: The stairs are steep but I prefer the rooms in the higher floors that have private bathrooms for the...

It was my first trip in solo and I was a bit nervous. My worries were rapidly swept away when I met the hosts at Lisbon Story Guesthouse

I really enjoyed the 10-day stay at the guesthouse. Well, it felt like I actually lived there. The location is great. Most if the attractions are at a walking distance. Otherwise, you can hop on the metro, the train or tram within a matter of minutes.

The staff is fantastic! They are very friendly. They inform the guests about WHAT'S ON in Lisbon every day and give good suggestions to those (like me) who don't really have a plan for the day.

Most of the bedrooms are spacious and clean. The lounge and breakfast area is cozy and addictive. Forget about noisy chairs. There’s simply a party of pillows aligned orderly on the floor and cute tiny tables with candles as centerpiece, lit at night (very romantic). It's also the perfect room to take a nap in the middle of the afternoon.

The terrace is a must, even if you're a non-smoker. It's small, but so lovely; a great place to relax and watch the stars.

The selection of food for breakfast is pretty good... fresh bread, cheese, sausages, yummy jams, cereals, flavourful grapes and fruits and if you’re a breakfast ogre or ogress like me, you can also crack an egg in the kitchen.

I strongly recommend this place.

You'll just love it!

We stayed at Lisbon Story Guesthouse for four nights. Location is great, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful and the atmosphere at the guesthouse warm and welcoming. We were staying in LUZ: a bright, nice room and offering a great view on the square - downside: the walls to the neighbourroom are fairly thin.

I hope to be back to Lisbon and to this great guesthouse soon!

We spent 2 nights in this very nice guesthouse! It's located very near to Rossio square, great position to discover the whole city! Our room was CULTURAS and it's tiny but comfortable, the bathroom is in common but always clean and the breakfast was very good and rich. The staff is very helpful and kind. Just a little advise: the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor, there's no elevator and stairs are small, so it may not be the right place for you if you have big luggages!!

I stayed a week in this guesthouse and felt at home. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially with my 5 old son who enjoyed his stay in Lisbon.
The hotel is really well located, you can go every where from this central place.
You can cook your evening meal in the little kitchen, my son could play and relax in the common room.
The room ( luz) was clean, the bed confortable, the towels changed every two days. Perhaps a bit noisy in the evening but it didn't bother me or my son to fall asleep.
The breakfast was very good and various.
The shared bathrooms was ok , and it depends mostly on the other guests there....but I didn't have any complains to make.
Next time I will go to Lisbon, I'll check in the same hotel !!

I stayed here for five nights in October and liked the place. I had the smallest and cheapest room, but it had the very best view in the house staight out to Rossio Placa and the National Theatre. The beds was rather lumpy and the room very basic, but clean and nice. There were two bathrooms and access was only an issue at peak hours. The breakfast was very good and the staff really friendly. The stairs are really steep so I would not recommend it for older unfit travellers with lots of luggage. The location of this palce and the value for monay make it really very highly recommended. The room was not cleaned in my stay and the towels unchanged.

Lisbon Story is exactly my kind of place. I've just got back from a five night stay with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Bruno was very communicative with us during the booking process, taking great care to provide directions and information to make the arrival from the airport smooth (it's super easy - take the airport bus or a cheap-as-chips taxi if you are 3+ people). The hotel's location, right off the main Rossi Square in the city and within about 10 minutes walk of most of the nightlife and central sights, is perfect. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, Bruno especially. What a nice man.

The cushioned communal room is designed to be comfortable enough for guests to be able to take a nap without worrying, as well as the place for a relaxed breakfast, guitar strumming, reading and listening to the amazing antique radio. It fulfils this function perfect - almost too well in our case. We found it very hard to shift ourselves before noon.

Rooms are stylishly designed and comfortable, although be warned that the extra bed in any room is a futon and not ideal for more than a night or two. Information on what services are provided - hairdryers, umbrellas, shoe shine kits - is clear. There are cute extra touches, such as information on Tolerance Square out to the front of the property, thought-provoking quotations painted in the corridors and a notebook as a keyring so guests from the same rooms can share their stories.

The shared bathrooms are spotlessly clean with soap provided in the shower and plenty of hot water. Perhaps they could do with a bit of a refurb after five years of service, but they are functional. Some of the lower rooms are a bit noisy and close enough to street level to need to be a bit cautious about leaving the window open when you go out.

Lisbon Story has a relationship with a local homeless charity and collects unused toiletries, nonperishable food, money, sleeping bags and anything travellers might discard, for the benefit of Lisbon's many homeless people.

This is a guest house created by a traveller for other travellers - it makes all the difference.
