We booked this off the back of a number of good reviews prior to a night in Lisbon as part of 10 day break in Portugal. The reviews were definitely accurate! The walk up from the centre has quite a lot of big hills and steps but once we found the restaurant we were pleased with the quiet location yet proximity to bars. The restaurant has around 10 tables (3 outside) so I would recommend booking. We sat outside and saw a lot of people turned away because they had not booked.
We ordered the local meat and cheese platter to start (with a side of smoked butter which was incredible), We then ordered the baked octopus and pork cheeks for main. They were kind enough to split each dish so we technically had two mains each so we could sample each dish. The octopus was one of the tastiest dishes I have ever eaten and would order it again in a heartbeat. Pork cheeks were incredibly rich and meaty and were also very good. The house red is great value too as we found in most places in Portugal. The whole meal came to around 60 euros which is incredible value for the quality of the food we had.
If you're in Lisbon for a night or two I would implore you to visit Versiculo for the amazing food, great location and friendly service
