“A nice Portuguese restaurant”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

We visited this restaurant upon recommendation and weren't dissapointed. Unlike the other restaurants in the street, they don't need to drag customers in from the street. Set on 4 floors, the restaurant was crowded with locals and tourists alike. The food was good and the wine was excellent (Soalheiro Primeiras Vinhas). The service was friendly but lacked any kind of formality.

“Best place for seafood”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Excellent food and service, although waiting time can be a bit long if no reservation. Staff is very professional, still smiling and start easily talking with you

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Tucked away in a side street close to the Rossio, this was a classy establishment with smart service and excellent food. Fish specialities and ham carved to order off the bone. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Interesting wine list presented on an Ipad!

“The best of the best”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Liked: The incredible food, the good wine, and the vibrant atmosphere. I had the most marvelous Feojada Mariscos -- all kinds of shellfish with white beans in a tomatoey sauce. And I think a salad. And yummy appetizers. And sat and enjoyed the scene.

Disliked: Nothing!

“Lives up to the hype”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We walked in at 8pm and got in just before the rush and fluked a table for two. Had a wonderful evening. Great food, excellent wine list (on an iPad!), superb service and wonderful people watching. Clearly a lot of regulars who are greeted with kisses (for the women) and handshakes (for the men) as well as expats and tourists. We just ate the appetisers that come your way unasked, black rice for two, two different glasses of wine as recommended by the waiter, and coffee. We spent nearly two hours there and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Unless you're the sort that wants to eat quickly, with each course served snappily as you finish the last. This is a place to relax and enjoy the vibe, and the food will come when the food comes. Spookily I saw the guy arrive who is below, he reviewed on 7 June which is when we were there too. Glad he had a good time too.
