My husband and I recently stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. The apartment itself is very nice. Overall very comfortable except the master bed is quite small, even fairly short. The views from the apartment are truly wonderful! You can sit in the "sunroom" and see a beautiful 180 degree view of some of the great landmarks of Lisbon.
We were met at the apartment by Luis who was very informative and helpful. (After climbing the 5 steep flights of stairs) He showed us through the place and explained how things worked. This is always nice because sometimes in a new country you may not know how to operate things. He even gave pointers on places to visit and which way to walk to get to them. Again very helpful.
There are a few reasons why I'm only giving 3 stars. First, the surrounding neighborhood is extremely loud at night, even well into the early morning hours. We did see quite a lot of people hanging outside the bar every night which is just down the street only a few buildings away. They played loud music and yelled throughout the night. Had there been air conditioning or even a fan this may have been blocked out.
Next, there is a lot of construction right next door and pretty much down the whole block. They start every morning at the 8 o'clock church bell chime and continue until 7 pm. This also adds to the noise issue. Even though we are early risers it takes away from the ambience of those awesome views when you're having your morning coffee.
There are a few things that need to be freshened up in the apartment. Mostly the towels, sheets, and bathmat. It's kind of a shame when the apartment itself is nicely decorated and maintained that these items are so worn.
The apartment is in a great location for accessing so many of the wonderful sights of Lisbon. We walked for miles every day to see all the surroundings. And if you're not into walking the tram/trolley is just a couple blocks away as is the main train station. A recommendation is to take the train to Sintra for the day. What a great city! The castle and palace are truly amazing and well worth a visit. Plus it's much cooler there than in Lisbon, a nice break from the heat.
Overall we had a very nice stay and enjoyed exploring Lisbon!
