This was a large place, short on staff due to Easter Sunday, but the food was very good. It looked like a place that would be convenient and fast, but turned out somewhat slow. The food made up for thw service and Italian was a nice break for various Salted Cod dishes we had been trying.

Our family of four had mixed feelings on our dining experience at Locanda Italiana. To start we ordered a salad Pugliese and salad Rucola. The salad Rucola had to be sent back as it did not come as it was described; the kitchen had forgotten a couple of things. Otherwise they tasted fine. For main courses we ordered spaghetti carbonara, Gnocchi Caprese, pizza calzone, and pizza tropea. My wife thought the cheese on the pizza was cheap as it did not taste quite right. The calzone was good and the Gnocchi was enjoyed very much. Our son thought the carbonara was the best ever but the wife and I thought it was nothing special. Both the past and Gnocchi portions were quite large. The wait staff was friendly and quick to respond to our requests. We tried both a Lambrusco and a white wine. While we like the wines we thought both should have been served colder. We thought the prices we very good.

My dad was missing pasta so Locanda Italiana is the right place to taste good italian food abroad. I got a pizza from a real italian pizzamaker and it was good. Good prices and good quality, come here if you can during your stay in Lisbon.

We came to this restaurant based on recommendations we had read. The Restaurant was lively and looked interesting. We ordered our drinks and food and they arrived together five minutes later. (Which was a lot quicker than we had expected) . Food was nice but nothing special. Waiting staff were inattentive and we waited 15 minutes to pay our bill as our waiter chatted to the other customers. This spoiled an otherwise pleasant evening.
