We stayed for a week at hotel lido. The rooms were basic, but clean and tidy!
We were the for the Ibercup football tournament. It is located on a steep hill, however, we didn't personally find it a problem! Just a bit more exercise. The train station and beech is approx 10 minute walk? The casino and lots of bars and restraunts were approx 5 minute walk. Some of the staff were really helpful, some not so much! If you get the right ones, you will be very happy. Breakfast is basic, But kept us happy. Overall, it's a good cheap hotel, however, if you have problems walking uphill, it's not the place for you.

This hotel is great for people who want to get up and around Estoril and Cascais. Estoril casino is about a 5 minute walk away. Lisbon is a distance on the train away, but easy enough. Estoril train station is a good 10 minute walk away, and the hill is steep on the return. The rooms are adequate and are at a 3* standard. Breakfast is adequate, but basic. The hotel does reasonable food, however we were served 3 slightly raw burgers! We were quickly apologised and given a refund on our meals. All in all a typical 3* hotel, there are some nice hotels in Estoril and Cascais!

Just returned from a week long stay at the Lido. It's a great hotel. We found the staff to be very friendly and really helpful throughout our stay. Both checking in and out were very easy and quick.
One of our rooms overlooked the pool and had a balcony which was great. The room was quite spacious and the daily cleaning was perfection. The other room had a street view, it had two balconies and got full sun in the evening.Beds were really comfortable. There was also a mini fridge in each room which was very handy.
Every part of the hotel is extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is great with easy access to Cascais, Lisbon and the Lisbon coast. We were happy with every aspect of our stay at the Lido and look forward to staying there again. Thanks to everyone at the Lido.

Cheap rooms, but a bit out dated. Also location is up hill, not near where the action takes place (you have to use the quite affordable taxi's). Breakfast was a bit poor and overcrowded. If you want to go cheap, this is the place but don't expect any extra.

The hotel is not far from the beach, and it only takes a few minutes to walk down the hill to the station and seafront. Transport links to Cascais and Lisbon are very good from the station. However, the trek back up the hill needs consideration for anyone with mobility problems. The staff at the hotel were helpful, the room was a typical 3* room - clean and fine for a short break. The pool is lovely, but it's unheated so May was a bit too early to take a dip! Breakfast was a little disappointing but was typical hotel buffet fare. English guests - take your own tea bags! The tea on offer was very weak. Overall good value for money.

This is a very clean and adequately kept hotel in a good position to explore what the area has to offer, Cascais is a 15 minute walk along the coast which was lovely (here there are lots of bars and restaurants) or a 2 minute train journey if you are lazy or pregnant as I happened to be! Lisbon is 25 minutes away by train and is packed with things to do. Can fully recommend the 24 hour bus tour for 15E. It's true the hotel is on a slight hill but its literally no more than 10 minutes to the beach which is stunning (here you will find a few bars and restaurants) and train station and I walked it 5 months pregnant twice a day. It's really not a problem.

As far as the hotel itself is concerned As long as you do not expect anything overally fancy you won't be disappointed but you get what you pay for! The rooms are keep beautifully clean by the cleaning staff and our towels were changed regulary. The TV has lots of English channels but no tea and coffee making facilities :(
The breakfast is again adequate, we had scrambled eggs and toast more or less everyday but there are yoghurts, cereals and fruit available. The coffee was pretty awful so if steer clear of that! But there is a coffee bar that serves gorgeous hot chocolate!
There was a distinct lack of staff at breakfast time and at any time really and they weren't all that friendly and falling over themselves to help.
The pool area is immaculate and is a really nice area to sit and enjoy the sun.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and we would recommend the hotel lido to a friend if the wanted a cheap, clean little BB in a great location for exploring whilst staying somewhere more scenic and quiet.

Let's start with the good news:

we got a good price with hotels.com,every 3rd night was free, and having booked 6 nights,we got 2 nights free, making it an average of 36 euros a night.Check in was fast and efficient, the room was already waiting for us although 3 hours earlier then check in time(2pm). Breakfast buffet was also fairly good, but sometimes the place was crowded(it seems that lots of french pensioners travelling by coach stay in the hotel). The matresses were new and very confortable, fairly hard, just like I like them.

Now the bad news:

Apart from the appalling weather (it rained most of the time)for which the hotel is obviously not responsable, there was an overwelming smell of sewage in the room, maybe a common problem, who knows, moreover the hotel is located in a residential area of detached houses that almost all have dogs, these dogs bark all day and also most of the night, fact that is totally overlooked by they ignorant owners, and this make sleeping at night very difficult, especially if you get a room towards the street and not towards the pool. There are no supermarket in the vicinity.
would I go back?Probably not, maybe I would go to the nearby Cascais,a much better looked after town....Estoril was probably a little gem in the 1950s,but now is just falling apart,a bit like Graeat Yahrmouth.
