We enjoyed a great stay in this hotel last midweek.
Hotel is perfectly suited for short holiday breaks to combine city visit (Lissabon) with beach visits. Hotel is clean, and staff friendly.

Will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Rooms in new wing are modern and luxurious, with balcony

Dear Martijn K We apreciate the time you took to review our Hotel. Indeed, the Hotel does have the big plus of sitting quietly near the great beaches of Estoril and Cascais while beeing very close to Lisbon and beautiful places such as Sintra. It is also great to see guests such as yourself praise the work we done in renewing our Superior rooms. It is, for us, truly rewarding. Finally, should you come back, feel free to talk to our front desk staff to get more information on the beautiful, hidden gems that surround the Estoril area and further explore its secrets. Kind regards, Ana Araujo General Manager ana.araujo@hotelinglaterra.com.pt

The hotel is beautiful, Adin old styled palace combined with a modern feel on the new wing. The staff was extremely nice and the room was one of the most confortable I have ever been at. Located in thece nter of Estoril the top tears have a lovely view over the bay making the balconies on the rooms a fabulous asset. Defenatly worth the price.

Dear Paula C

Thank you so much for your kind words, I will personally make sure our staff is aware of your coments. As you may know, the building was born in the 1920’s and we are truly happy that our guests feel that the new wing, besides adding brand new Superior rooms and its fantastic balconies, also fits seamlessly into the historical landmark that the hotel is.
Once again, we sincerely appreciate the time you took to review our Hotel and we hope to welcome you again in a near future.

Kind regards,
Ana Araujo

This was my 3rd or 4th stay over 4 years. The Inglaterra is a small, good quality, full service hotel with character and charm, well located in easy walking distance to the train station, lots of shops and restaurants, small grocery, the Casino and the Banyan Spa. It is well run with very kind staff people. You see business people, families and couples staying here. For little kids, there are rooms with direct access to a fenced lawn and playground equipment. The hotel added a wing of new rooms in 2013 which are Scandinavian modern, quite different than the traditional Portuguese character of the original building. The new rooms are brighter and larger, all have balconies, large showers, very comfortable beds, reading lights, comfortable mattresses, mini fridges, a comfortable chaise lounge, and they are close to the new infinity pool. The internet connection is weaker in the new rooms because farther from the source. The original rooms vary in size but for a European hotel are not small, a few have balconies, their bathrooms have bidets and nice deep tubs with showers, a mini fridge, a small arm chair that is not comfy for reading, better internet, and although not as brightly lit they have warmer, more traditional decorating. If the older rooms had a comfy chair I would prefer them, even though they are definitely showing wear. All rooms have flat screens and free internet. The rates include a breakfast that has variety and tastes OK: scrambled eggs, sausages and a third hot dish that varies, as well as the usual European selection of cold ham, cheeses, fruits, yoghurt, baked goods, and juices. There's a quiet bar that is always attended although not much drinking goes on, just nice for a glass of wine or cup of tea in the afternoon. The restaurant is not busy unless there is a tour group with a buffet. Otherwise they are prepared to serve a couple of plats de jour or sandwiches, which is handy if you don't want to go out or want room service, and the food is not bad. For the best rates, compare the hotel's own website which might have special packages. Other than the Palacio at four times the price, it is the best all around hotel in Estoril. I very much enjoy staying at the Inglaterra and will return.
