Stayed here for a week with my family. This house met all our needs. All amenities were available and the conditions of this house was immaculate, very clean and beautiful decor. I would strongly recommend this home to anyone wanting a great, safe relaxing vacation. Mauricio was a great host always keeping in touch making sure everything was ok.
I would like to take this opportunity and thank for all you did to make our stay a wonderfull one. Upon arrival we were welcomed nicely and provided with usefull information and handy tips Once we reached the house, it was beyond our expectation. I came here to spend a week with my wife, mother and parents in law. The accomodation suited this purpose perfectly. Everything you need is there, it's clean, enough privacy for everyone, the area is quiet and peacefull, good Wi-Fi, a bakery nearby and on and on. During our stay Maurico was happy to help with tips on reasturants and things/places we could explore. There are guides and maps of Portugal available in the house. I would definitley comeback and recommend this place to anyone looking for a great accomodation in this area. Muito obrigado para tudo!
We stayed here for 6 nights at the end of April/beginning of May. As soon as I booked I got a very welcoming message from Mauricio and lots of helpful information followed. The house itself is lovely - about a 20 minute walk from the centre of town in a very quiet residential area. It's very well equipped and the outside area is much bigger than it looks on the photos! Mauricio checked in with us several times to check everything was ok which was really nice. Highly recommended for couples or families!
Cascais is a great beach community, a lot of great restaurants and conveniently located to all the highways, bus service and metro. Many shops and great restaurants. Host, made himself available to us and was very knowledgeable and helpful. His home was beautifully furnished and very clean. First experience in Portugal and we will be back.
Where do I begin....my family and I stayed at the Casa dos Sonhos on January 2-7. Mauricio texted me to make sure that we had arrived to house safe and sound. When we arrived we opened the doors to a beautiful, immaculate, cozy, well equipped home. There was a binder that included key information regarding the house and it also contained a list of local restaurants that came highly recommended. The house was well equipped: toaster, washer, heaters, extra cozy blankets, Q-tips, shampoo, and it even had a hair straightener, which I totally appreciated. Mauricio checked in via text throughout our trip to ensure that we were doing well. The house is located in a great location, close to the beach and supermarket. I highly recommend this beautiful home! Two thumbs up! 5 stars!
This is our first visit to Cascais and in Portugal and we visited over the Christmas holidays (2016). We are a family of five, mum, dad and three grown sons.
The owner (Mauricio) of Casa dos Sonhos sent us tips prior to the visit which was invaluable. In addition, Mauricio made contact via phone/email to answer questions prior to our departure. He provided instructions which made our travel on train from Lisbon airport very easy.
I’m glad we choose Casa dos Sonhos to stay as the accommodation exceeded our expectations. The house was impeccable and very comfortable for us. The Wi-Fi and TV channels were vast with lots to choose from, so much so that the boys were too comfortable and were reluctant to leave the house.
If I were to rate the accommodation, I’ll give it a five star rating. Because of the amenities provided e.g. beddings, cooking utensils, decorations, outside space, Nespresso coffee machine with the pods etc. Most importantly, the accommodation is located in a tranquil neighbourhood……….
Our best aspect of the accommodation was opening the door to find the most gorgeous beautiful Christmas tree – this shows the extra length that Mauricio and his wife have gone to make our stay a happy experience. On Christmas Eve, Mauricio arranged for a treat of exquisite Portuguese delicious delicacies to be delivered and laid out for us.
The location of the house served as an easy gateway to the different tourist and local sites. Staying at the house gave us the opportunity to experience how the local Portuguese lives. In addition, we were able to travel easily to the various tourist sites. For example, we had a leisurely walk to Boca do Inferno, Cascais. We also visited the museums in Cascais which were within walking distance from the house. We visited Cidadela de Cascais – Cascais Fort, which holds lots of history about Portugal.
We particularly enjoyed our trip to Lisbon city centre in the evening. We travelled by train from Cascais to Cais do Sadre Station. The journey was about 45 minutes and costed a few Euros. Lisbon comes alive at night with lots of street performances and eateries.
There are places we are yet to visit in Cascais so we are planning our next visit…….to be continued
We stayed in this house as a family of 5 (1 teenager and two 10 year olds). It is located in a residential area on the outskirts of the town.
Before the visit, Mauricio was always prompt to answer any questions we had and was easy to contact via Trip Advisor, What's App, email and phone. He also contacted us while we were at the house to check that everything was OK.
The house was very clean and had everything we needed including hairdryers, loo roll, washing up liquid, washing powder, towels, kitchen roll, washing line, fans, cool bag, iron and ironing board. There was nothing we needed that wasn't in the house. The WiFi worked well, which kept the children happy and allowed us to look things up too. The TV had a few channels in English.
The rooms looked just like the pictures and the outside area was nicer than it appears in the photo with a few plants. The outside table had an umbrella to provide shade, as it was often 33 degrees Celcius during the middle of the day (August). The area is south facing and therefore has the sun for a lot of the day, although there is often some shade too.
The house is in a nice area with a Lidl supermarket, bakers and fruit and veg shop about 5 min walk away (via the alley short cut and steps). A bigger supermarket (Jumbo) is about 20 min walk away in the centre of town. It takes about 20-25 min to walk to the nearest beach in Cascais. The walk to the main Estoril beach is about 45 min cutting through a park. Th beaches often have showers, toilets and cafes, and some have information/first aid posts. There was an inflatable in the sea at Cascais, which the children played on wearing life jackets (5 Euros for 45 min each).
We used the train and metro to get around (and to and from the airport), as it was cheap, easy to use and the service was frequent (every 20 min to Lisbon). We bought a Via Viagem card for 0.5 Euros and then loaded it for 'zapping'. The cards can be topped up at machines and also at the main desks. It cost 3.05 Euros to get from the airport to Cascais (red and green line on the metro and train from Cais do Sodre) and takes about 1.5 hours. The train runs along the coast.
Cascais is a nice place to stay - the area is clean, feels safe and there is plenty going on. The locals are friendly, and can often speak some English (or at least enough for us to get by).
We liked the house and were pleased that we stayed outside of the town centre, as it could have been noisy at night in some of the apartments we looked at.
