We were here during a stormy Xmas week and really enjoyed nature's show and the crowds. People were happily lined up waiting for the next big wave without any other distractions. It was a very nice (free) spectacle along the lovely promenade from Cascais to Lisbon.

This is a short walk from the center of Cascais. Very nice views of the ocean and waves hitting the rocks.
Right on the rocks there is a restaurant and several small cafés.
The length of your visit naturally depends on how much you enjoy watching and listening to the waves.

1/2 mile walk from city center. Easy and scenic walk along ocean on paved path. Small souvenir vendors with local craft and several food options on premises. No fee. beautiful views with crashing waves into the chasm known as the Boca del Inferno. Take a half hour and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

This is one of my favorite places ever.
You can lay down at the amazing rocks (careful at winter time) and just look at the sky...
Try to see the shape of the clouds, listen to the ocean waves hitting the rocks.
Here you can also see some really amazing ocean caves that you can enjoy and see how beautiful is the Portuguese coast.
A little bit crowded sometimes.
Try to pay attention to the tour buses...
We all have to share, but is much nicer when is quiet.

breaking waves hitting the cliffs are partially showing formidable fountains - even at lightly breeze, nice sunsets, two nice lighthouses in the near (nice esp. at night); tiny restaurant
