“A must-try for everyone travelling to Cascais /Lisbon”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

I have spent 5 days in this marvellous place, where I went for a kite-surfing trip to the nearby beach of Guincho. The house is superbly rennovated, the great taste of Suzanna and Mario is evident from the first moment you set foot on the place. The service is excellent, these guys make you feel at home immediately. The cleanliness, the ambience, the services (such as super-fast, reliable wifi), the great breakfast, all constitute little details that make your stay a very enjoyable experience. I can confirm all the positive comments I have read from other visitors of the place, and I should also point out that while I had planned another week in the south of Portugal, I chose to return to Alquimia for another day, before leaving Portugal. And I was fortunate enough to find a room available! This is how nice a place this is!

Room Tip: Any of the 5 rooms is worth visiting, you are gonna wanna go there again!

Stayed at Alquimia for a couple days beginning of July. The place is new and apparently not so known yet. But no doubt Mario and Susana will soon be very busy and victim of the success.
Decorated personally by them, the rooms and living space are uncluttered and elegant with a touch of freshness and peace throughout the house. Breakfast was copious and delicious (specially home made jam). And more importantly the service was great. Mario and Susana have a true sense of hospitality and customer service, they are available and willing to help (advises, recommended spots, etc). Will go back for sure. Raul

Me and my friend had a great stay at Alquimia! This new guest house is newly renovated and the rooms are very fresh and clean, as well as nicely decorated. It is about a ten minute walk from the city center, thus located in a more quiet and relaxing area. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The manager, Mario, was super-friendly and helpful, even drove us to the airport at 7 am on the day of departure just so we wouldn't have to call a cab! Overall great place to stay when in Cascais. Highly recommended.

Me and my wife stayed in Alquimia Guest House this June on the 'Areia' private double room, and we just loved the hole stay. We initialy booked three nights and we ended staying a whole week. Why?... Because the place is so charming, elegant, clean and new... and the owners Susana and Mário are so welcoming. Everything is well organised and all the help you may need you can ask them as they will tell you all about, always with a sincere smile and a genuine good will.
Cascais is a very charming and elegant sea village full of nice places to visit, with a good cultural offer, nice beaches, and great restaurants. It is also very close to Sintra (probably the most romantic place in the world), the precious beach of Guincho, and, of course, to Lisbon. Cascais has the perfect geographical situation.
Thank you Susana and Mário for the lovely stay we had.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood but close to the city center. Short walk to the station from where you can catch a train to Lisbon.
Gorgeous rooms, each in a different style, small garden with lemon trees...
Peacefull and cosy place.

The guest house is located in a quiet street, but close to the sea and the center of Cascais. Rooms are very comfortable and wonderfully decorated. The view from the balcony and the possibility to see the sea are fantastic. There is a lot of space to spend time with other guests - large living room with a fire place, nice garden with lemon trees.

Room Tip: It is a brand new place on the market. Try to book a room with balcony.
