This is going to be a short review and "delicious food and visual delight" sums it up nicely. We had a 5 course tasting menu, where dishes of various local Portuguese specialties were changing in a kaleidoscopic whirlwind of plates with beautifully served food. If you are in Cascais, pay a visit - you would definitely have a feeling each dish was cooked as it chef is doing one dish at a time with some much attention to detail, unusual combination of ingredients and flavors.

The food here was exceptional - I think it fully deserves its rating. It's also extremely good value for what is essentially a michelin meal. You can get three glasses of excellent quality wine for 15e and we opted for the middle priced menu (about 35e for four courses). We were satisfied and quite full afterwards. The atmosphere is extremely calm, the kitchen staff look focused and professional. Overall I couldn't fault it. They were also extremely good with looking after my friend's dietary needs - but if you are booking, do let them know your needs beforehand.

It's true that this restaurant is a bit of a trip even from Cascais or Estoril and its in a sort of neighbourhood row of shops rather than a fashionable spot on the coast but inside its a high end restaurant with nice decor and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Most people however will be here for the food...
We had a great view of the glass walled kitchen and its true that the chef is a true perfectionist with wonderfully flavoured dishes. There's a choice of 3 set menus and I took the 4 course middle option.
All 3 menus started with the chef's signature slow cooked egg - this time with a yam purée and some excellent smoked beetroot.
Next came a fish (they didn't know the English for it) with a really impressive pea risotto.
The third course was perhaps the most disappointing, but still good, duck with another purée - this was perhaps less adventurous than the duck confit on the three course menu.
The final course was almost perfection - a white chocolate based confection which was light with a real depth of flavour.
On the night we went there were some service issues, it seemed with some back of house issues like a broken dishwasher. We had very gracious apologies however and this didn't spoil a lovely evening with a team who are clearly passionate about what they are doing.
One quick note - they only take Portuguese credit cards and most cash cards have a daily cash limit so be prepared!

It may be off the beaten track, but a hungry stomach, tripadvisor and the Conceito Food Store was my best decision yet. The tasting menu and service was a pure delight. If you want choice, this is not your place but if you want food that is cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend Conceito Food Store. I chose the beginner 3-course menu which consisted of slow cooked egg (a first for me) with carrot purée and other unforgettable touches which was heaven on a plate. This was followed by mackerel and risotto (sublime) and a deconstructed carrot and orange cake with cheese cake. Food heaven!
