Description: La Bonne Etoile is a cafe, tea room, restaurant and art gallery that is completely innovative, offering a corner of the French Riviera in Cascais. Entering that place is like entering a private home rather than a restaurant. The atmosphere is refined and the customer is received as a friend. Everything is designed to help the customer enjoy the flavors and aromas that awaken the senses. The menu is French influenced and changes regularly.

“Magical gastronomy served with love.”

Grace is a wonderful chef and hostess. Her 18 hour days make for perfection.
We're going back in 4 days for another special meal, before we return to the comparatively mundane cooking at home.
Toujours Grace!

“Excellent experience!”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

The four of us got a reservation and had a great experience. We felt like old friends. I had prawns with rice, which was great. My son and his girl friend are vegetarians, so Grace had to make something special for them, and they liked it and thought the "burger" was unique. The desserts were particularly well done.

“A very pleasant meal!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

I went with my good friend to have a quiet and relaxing meal and the choice of the venue was absolutely perfect. Graça, the owner was brilliant, charming and made us feel like we were at a friend's house. Besides the 5 star treatment we had a superb meal, a delicious dish of ratatouille, cooked with care and attention.
Absolutely wonderful!! I strongly recommend a visit to this spot...

“Dinner at home”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We had dinner in the terrace, a little addition to a small but cozy place. The food was very good and the owner is nice and caring, which certainly adds up to the experience. Please note that this is not your usual restaurant: the owner will let you know if she's busy, as you will have to wait a bit. If you want your dinner in a hurry, do not come here, but if you can wait while chatting and enjoying the ambience, you will enjoy it. It's a shame that it is not closer to the centre, but may that would ruin it a bit...

“Quite Unique. Chef, hostess, owner all in one”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Definitely worth a visit during your stay in Cascais. Away from the tourist maelstrom. Yes,it's a little out of town but an easy walk. 20 minutes? I don't think so, shorter. YOU CAN DO IT! Walk out of town along the Av Da Republica and take the first turning on the right after the 'Hippodrome' riding school. It may seem like you are getting a little remote but you're soon there. After that right turn bear left after 50m and you are on the Rua Dom Jose de Aviliez, the restaurant is at the end of the road on the left so keep walking.
You will be here for the evening so calm down, order a drink and settle in. The food is sort of French, a limited menu, but choice enough. Grace is waitress, maitresse d' and chef but she has the charm and finesse to manage this trick. Very pleasant dining and if you can manage a dessert the chocolate cake is superbrilliant. Fruits du bois coupe also delicious. Highly recommended.

Mr Sheffield,

Thank you very much for your so kind revue. I loved to have you here and I hope 'will have the joy to see you again.... but this time, please.... take the shortest way - you just have to walk on Cascais main avenue - Av 25 April, and it's on thet left side walk at the first roundabout. ... :)
Thank you again.
