“Excellent dinner...”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Right in the centre of Cascais. Authentic Portuguese food served with a smile. We visited twice and throughly enjoyed both visits where we tried a variety of beef, chicken and fish dishes. Both times the bill came to around €100 for 4 people

“Back after 31 years..... but a little disappointing”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Ate dinner here with my husband on Saturday 13th July 2013. He proposed to me and we became engaged to be married in this very restaurant in July 1982! We came back 31 years later to reminisce and fuel our memories! This restaurant has been in Cascais for around 40 years. The waiters are mainly older men - some are friendly and speak good English - others less so. They brought the 'couvert' - bread, cheese, and various appetiser snacks - we only wanted bread, and it was very nice - rustic and crusty. We both had soup - one fish soup and one seafood bisque - it was OK. We wanted to taste the Fish and Seafood Cataplana - a type of Portuguese seafood stew a bit like Boullabaisse. It was OK, but a little under-seasoned and bland. Not very delicious or tasty, I'm afraid. We shared a portion of dessert - a lemon tart - which was also OK. Overall score for our meal was 6 out of 10. Lovely memories, but food was much better elsewhere.

“Awful- Avoid Avoid”
Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

I felt compelled to write a review as soon as I returned to the hotel. We only wandered in here as we had spent an hour wandering around looking for a different fish restaurant.
A farce from start to finish- faulty towers. Ordered two fish main courses. Bread & cheese arrived- fine. 45mins later still no food. We enquired, waiter laughed/ apologised weakly. The restaurant was not that busy. 15 mins later still no food. Asked to speak to manager, he arrived after the good had finally arrived. Another half hearted apology. I suggested something be taken off the bill as a gesture- I feel the 'no understand the English' kicked in here. Full bill arrived- not even €1.50 for bread taken off.
Disgraceful
