“First-class experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

There are quite a few fish and seafood restaurant along the Guincho beach, but don't bother. This excellent establishment is much better. Full of locals enjoying the freshest and brilliantly well prepared seafood and fish. Simple is usually best and this is so true in this restaurant. We had small baby-lobsters, king crab, shrimps and mussels in garlic on plates for startes and that would have perhaps been enough, the plates were so rich. But I'm glad we did nor stop there as the Dorade we got as main course was perhaps the best I've ever had. And I've tasted a few... I need to get back to Cascais and to this restaurant very soon.

“Seafood by the Sea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

Everything was more than we had hoped for: delicious soup, a huge seafood platter for two, supurb fresh bread, nice selection of deserts, and a delightful bottle of well-chilled vinho verde.

“Very disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We went here with high hopes. But saddly we were disappointed, I ordered a prawn kebab which perhaps was the wrong choice. My husband had the cod bake, I got six prawns and a bowl of boiled rice, my husband had very oily over cooked cod. To be fair we looked around the restaurant and the people who were having the seafood platters looked as if they were getting nice food. For us it was one of the worst meals we had on our tour of the Silver Coast. We did however have the most fantastic meal at 5entidos, fresh delicious food, the best we had eaten.

“How good is Portugal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We dined here with friends on our last night in Portugal before returning home. And what a great memory to take home. Wonderful seafood and service so typical of Portugal. There were eight in our group. Our waiter suggested a whole sea bass which he thought would feed six and threw in another couple of smaller sea bass to cover all of us. The fish was carved and served at the table. Beautifully cooked. Not dry and with moisture and plenty of taste. Vegetables and salad were good. Fresh and in the case of the potatoes hot and perfectly cooked. This followed entrees which at our waiter's suggestion included prawns and squid. All perfectly cooked and served and delicious. Some of us had desert which in my case was a rich smooth chocolate mousse. The wine was excellent and by our standards very inexpensive. The total cost including a 10% tip was €110.
The restaurant is on the sea and I would imagine lunch on a sunny day would be spectacular. There are a number of other restaurants along the coast most of which also come with a good reputation. So if you have time try them all !!
