Indeed one of the best views in Cascais, also been one of the BEST places I have eaten in Cascais, but also the WORST too.
Over two decades the inconsistency of service and prices has been impressive to say the least, never in my life have I seen such a phenomenon.
From having the best seafood, starters and service in June to having a nightmare lunch or dinner in July is not unheard of.
The bad spell can last for years.....
The positives: great starters, seafood, wines, desserts and even steaks, and the service. Once upon a time, prices were good.
The negatives: the starters, the fish, service and the prices.
I have been served wrong fish, burnt fish, spents hours waiting for service, hours for the bill. With the mistakes comes no humility or proper apology.
If you want to eat well and have a good view in Cascais there a quite a few options, check them out.
In fact if you want a view, you can have it from the road and walkway on the road above.
Dont get fooled by hotels or guides that might have arrangements them.

When you had enough of hotel food in the area, however good, try this spot for typical Portugal upper class evening. We very quite lucky to arrive around 7pm before most of the guests arrived, so had a table for two as a goodwill from the chef... So the menu arrived on the table full of ice and fresh fish and raio (Rochen), so very tasty and colorful choice... the only problem was to select fish which we knew, but when we went for 1,65kg one with some patatas and wine...very good choice. Later other quests arrived but it is very quiet place and more for romantic dinner, while after you could enjoy the waves hitting the base of the rick, where the restaurant is located. Later on it is 8 EUR to get to Estoril...

Right on the rocks looking out on the Atlantic. Food was the Best! Wait staff could not be better and the menu has so many wonderful choices. Food preparation was mouth watering. We loved our meals.

The restaurant is located about 5 minutes west of Cascais directly on the spectacular Atlantic coast. It combines fantastic food with a great view and a nice ambience. Try “peixe em sal” (fish in a salt crust) - it is not salty at all- or “peixe al forno” (fish made in the oven) which is made with tomato and potatoes. The food is excellent although a little pricy.

Having been thoroughly delighted if not shocked by the incredible hospitality of Portuguese restaurateurs, I suggest all stay as far away from the absolutely rude staff of this spot. We walked out on a night when most restaurants were totally booked and our cab driver suggested a fabulous spot along the beach less than 5 minutes away that turned out to be a seafood lover's paradise. Rude people suck and I am glad we walked. Don't waste your precious holiday time here.
