“Terrible ”
Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

Worst meal I have ever had, really disappointed after some great meal in this area. We were asked why we left all our food and then told it was probably because we didn't understand Portugese food! Still got charged the full price - a joke

Reviewed August 10, 2013

We had lunch in this restaurant and the food was excusite. my daughter had the Salmon and it was perfect. I had the grilled octopus and it was just fantastic! I highly recommend this dish if you like octopus. The managers English is perfect and he made certain that we were enjoying our meal and made suggestions on the menu

“Enjoying Fish, in a Portuguese restaurant.”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

To eat in this restaurant does really open you up to a portuguese culinary experience. This experience is overall enhanced as the restaurant is popular with portuguese clientele. Also, the reception by the waiters and general atmosphere is very welcoming.
As we eat out regularly, the food is as important as the 'occasion'. The food here is good. From a humble omelette to grilled salmon or swordfish, all the food is served up with care.
More variety of vegetables would be welcome.

“Tasca Da Vila”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We truly enjoyed the large platter of mixed grilled fish and vegetables. The food was sooooo good. I was brought up on a beef farm in Quebec and later moved to Alberta.Fish is something you eat because it is good for you. W-e-l-l, this fish was absollutely delicious. Ate at Tasca da vila on a few occasions in Cascais and was greeted by wonderful, friendly staff. The owner, realizing we weren't experienced in taking the freshly caught and grilled fish off the bone, showed us how. Wonderful staff, good location and wonderful food. I now can saw that I love fish. (And that wasn't true until I ate at Tasca Da Vila.) Full meal for two, wtih bread, cheese, wine, excellent grilled mixed fish and vegetables $52 Euros. (Not a stuffy restaurant - just down home good food, casual and friendly).

“Superb grilled fish platter”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

We have eaten here three times in two visits and it's always good - but it's the grilled fish and seafood platter for two that keeps us coming back. Excellent king prawns, garlicky mussels, superb sea bass and (I think) swordfish, only letdown by over-dry salmon. Absolutely delicious, with good, if pricey, wine (though on fish we usually go for the Casa do Santar red). We sit outside (don't think they have air con).
