Very good restaurant. Top service in relaxed and unpretentious but high standard atmosphere. Good local dishes and good view despite being close to the street (which didn't bother me at all). Can only recommend. Good value as rightly priced for the experience and food quality

This used to be one of the top italian restaurants in Lisbon area. The chef (and owner) is a very good chef, but decided to not run the kitchen anymore. The people that replaced him cant even make a decent pasta al dente. Is a shame thinking in the potential (room, location, atmosphere) that are not backed up by the staff or the kitchen. They had a 2nd restaurant in Vila Bicuda, that closed recently and i predict that if they dont change this is going to close someday.

We are a bit surprised by some of the reviews here..
We live in Cascais, and Al Fresco, both in Cascais and by the Casino in Estoril is our favorites.. The menu is Portuguese / Italian, the food has always been excellent, the service is very good, the view is very nice.
Just try it. You will not regret it...

We received an invite from a very friendly waiter from in front of the restaurant. Service started out great, until we ordered tomato soup. My husband almost instantly threw up from the smell. I ended up eating both bowls of tomato soup, from which I also felt sick. I ordered salmon with prawns in champagne sauce. My husband ordered a proscuito pizza. A huge piece of blandly cooked salmon was placed in what looked like one week old cooked spinach, with 2 prawns and what tasted like one month old pasta with cauliflower and burnt cheese in one (perhaps it was supposed to be macaroni cheese?). My husband was unable to eat more than half of the pizza it was so badly done.

We have eaten in more places in the world at Ristorante restaurants and we cannot understand how this restaurant can be called Ristorante Al Fresco as the food does not compare to other Ristorante restaurants in the world.

A mere 63 Euros later, we are still counting our losses. 0,4L orange juice cost us 12,8 Euros, which probably wasn’t even 0,4L. We got the impression that these people just wanted to rob us of our money. It did not occur to them why we were sending the food back basically untouched, while they took the plates with a smile. We have never eaten food this bad in our lives.
