“A masterpiece of the Portuguese architecture”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

It is truly a masterpiece of the Portuguese architecture. Must see. Very beautiful. You can spend hours studying the details but for most of us 1-2 hr is enough. Free parking.

“1000% worth the visit”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

This monastery really deserves to be classified as World Heritage, you can certainly spend hours looking at the different details in each part of it.... so glad we decided to include Batalha in our day drive trip from Lisbon. (Lisbon -> Fatima -> Batalha -> Nazaré -> Obidos -> Lisbon) .

TIP: Sunday's the tour is FREE till 2pm.

“For me - it is the most striking monument in Portugal”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

I have been there around 15 times and every time I find it the most striking monument in Portugal. Thank to the king who ordered to stop the building - The unfinished chapels (CAPELAS IMPERFEITAS) are the most beautiful part of Batalha. - A gorgeous " stone forest" of Manualine style .

“MAGNIFICENT!”
Reviewed February 11, 2014 via mobile

This monastery is truly magnificent. Haven't seen any other building in Portugal quite like it. It stands talk and proud in a large square. Unfortunately they have just started charging people to access crypts and chapel which is a shame. Otherwise a must see, pop in!

“The most beautiful monastery”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

This is the most beautiful monastery I have ever seen. It took centuries to built it. Gothic roof, pillars, silent aisles, multicolored glass... This structure is really something.
