We came here for lunch, had the rice with seafood. This is an amazing dish! We asked for a bottle of red wine, left the choice up to the waitress. We got a really excellent wine for a small price. The service was also very good, very amiable.

What I like about this restaurant is how close it is from mosteiro da batalha. 3 min walk. About the food, maybe because i was having my expectations high because everyones talks about it but it was nothing out of the ordinary.. goog, average

Arriving 20 minutes after the advertised opening time, we were told to come back in another 20 when they might be ready. Once seated, it took some time to get a wine list. The white wine was a nice one - but it's the only restaurant where there was no offer of a cooler for it. The octopus starter was tender. The main course (when it came after a bit of a wait) was fine as far as the fish brochette went, but the accompanying saute of cabbage and potato was almost completely cold. The dessert was OK but uninspired. The cover was mainly package toasts with a little (butterless) fresh bread. Given that everywhere we went in Portugal we met with often remarkable standards of food in even the most ordinary little cafes, this place was a disappointment, tired and careless. I wouldn't recommend it.

Best to go a bit early or late if you are lunching at this buzzy little restaurant. The service is lovely, but a bit slow when they are full.
Peak hour is 2:00pm. Try the black pudding with rice or the brochettes.
