“Excellent place to stay”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I travel, doing about 3 hotel stays per week. This was a business trip, a repeat visit for this hotel. Always welcomed and always eager to please, this hotel takes the 'away from home" and makes it feel 'as close to home' as could be possible. The staff here is very friendly, the restaurant is very capable, providing a large choice of well prepared local and regional cuisine. Wifi is available with decent signal strength and was free for the asking. This review was not solicited in ANY way by the staff. I would recommend this hotel to any category of traveler without exception. Very very well done.

Room Tip: All rooms seem of equal 'standing' no preferences.

And what a view. The Mosteiro Batalha is just across the street as it were. You find yourself constantly rephotographing it from your window as you see it now in evening sunlight, then in morning. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and there is a pleasant bar area with free wifi. Also - the entrance has a ramp up to reception as well as a short flight of steps. This makes a great and welcome difference to getting luggage in and out. Besides the abbey, the rest of Batalha is right on your doorstep - shops, cafes, post office, tourist information. All in all, the best base to enjoy the place.

Room Tip: The monastery view is their selling point - and it's worth it.

if has just been 1 night stay for business but if has been a good experience and would repeat at any time.
Hotel location is exceptional, just in front of the monastery. People and service is first class, friendly and attentionated.
Having a drink at the terrasse bar is just relaxing but you also can work as wifi is available.
Rooms are clean and confortable.
If no time to go to the the beach, have dinner at the hotel restaurant, it is worth to get a good bacalao dish.
thank you for short but good time. Obrigada

Welcoming reception, comfortable room, nice restaurant. Restaurant serving is also friendly. They speak several languages;English, French, Spanish. When you take your diner, in front of you is the beautiful Batlha abbey. It was very nice stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights exploring Batalha, Tomar, Alcobaça and Obidos. Not only it's a perfect location to explore the area, it's a perfect hotel in every regard. It's located across from Batalha Monastery, offers a wonderful restaurant with free buffet breakfast and delicious dinner, super comfortable rooms and free parking on site. All staff are very friendly and helpful as are store and restaurant owners in town. It's a true 4 star hotel that you would not find easily for EU 99.00 per night. It's perfect for a family holiday or a romanitc getaway. When we return I would not think twice about booking this hotel because, as I said so many times in this review, it's perfect.

We visited Batalha yet again but this time wanted to have lunch there. You have a good selection of normal portuguese cafes and we wanted to sit outside so when we came across this hotel's restaurant with seating outside on the verandha there was no more discussion.
They offered a three course set daily menu for €12.50 which my husband and myself went for and our daughter ordered from the main menu,
The service was attentive, the view of the catherdral beautiful and the food was excellent. We had coffee Steak, Duck and a hot chocolate desert with melting chocolate in the middle desert. I can see this now being our lunch stop for all our visitors.

I booked this hotel based on good reviews and it surpassed my expectations. Great location, spotless, looks new and expensive, but we got a good price booking online. Classy dining area, nice rooms with marble bathrooms, very good breakfast buffet with hot and cold foods. The staff was friendly and even charged our dead camera battery for us. Only downside is no pool or fitness center.

Room Tip: Book online for best price. Please ignore terrible rating for pool and fitness center...they do not...
