We stayed in this hotel for a week at the end of June and had a great stay. The staff are very friendly and many speak good English. Our room was a good size (a twin room) with a bath and shower which was cleaned daily. It is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We had breakfast included which was served early in the morning until around 11am. It was lovely and there was a large variety to choose from; ham, cheese, bread, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, portuguese custard tarts, fruit juice etc. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Figueira da foz.
Older building that has been converted into an Ibis and it is not bad at all. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is very good, right in the middle of the old town and two minutes stroll to the main beach. Lots of places to eat and drink in the vincinity, although during winter many of them are closed (try Piccadeiro restaurant next door, excellent traditional Portuguese food, very good value). Service in this Ibis is first rate; the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful and always on hand to assist. Breakfast is not bad. Negatives: no parking, you have to use a small private car park about 300 metres away (4.50 Euros per day) which is a hassle if you are hauling heavy bags. Also the internet is frustratingly slow (same as in most Ibis’s I have stayed in) so it’s hard to get much work done. Despite this its not a bad place to stay at all.
Hotel Ibis It was a great surprise. The rooms wore very clean,. The receptions staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good, nothing to complain about. I highly recommend this hostel because of the location.
Was expecting a horrible chain of hotel, was corrected, it was perfect. Cheap, clean, service on desk late at night was exceptional, was greater with smiles. Breakfast was a hidden problem. 6.50euro per head, for not much, all round contented.
The room was small, but that didn't matter as we were there only for 1 night.
The room was clean and the shower was good. Breakfast was very good, the freshly squeezed orange juice fantastic!
The welcome at the reception was lukewarm, she seemed to be busy with other things. Checking out the next morning took some time as we had to wait for the receptionist to turn up.
The location was good although finding a free parking place nearby can pose a challenge. And as someone else also noted here, many cars were missing their antennas, so if you want to be safe, remove yours before leaving your car.
But all-in-all, no complaints really, a good no-frills hotel.
