My wife and I spent a night at this Ibis Hotel and found it a bit sterile. There was nothing particularly bad about the place but it seemed to lack any character and personality. It is a bit hard to find because it is located on a series of one-way downtown streets. Its major shortcoming is that it lacks secure parking. We found out the hard way that car radio antennas seem to be target for theft... why, we will never understand.
The town and beach area are actually amazing. The best thing is that they seem to cater mainly to Portugese people which is always a good sign. The bad news is that there seemed to be large numbers of Spanish visitors around which seems to only raise the noise level and reduce the courtesy of the Portugese wait staff.
The Ibis is an OK place to stay but on our next visit we will look for a place with more character and a more secure location. Figueira de Foz is an interesting place that merits at least one more repeat visit.More
