Good hotel, very useful if you are using Coimbra as a stop gap place to reach Porto or any other destination.
The staff at the reception were very helpful. Its a 20-30 min walk to the Coimbra town centre. Its a nice walk if you enjoy ambling. The university and monastery of course will take about an hour to reach.
Its well connected by bus to the city centre , station etc as well. Be mindful to check the train timings if you are going anywhere - not every train runs all the time as we found out and nearly missed our train to Porto.
We were directed by the reception to stand at the bus stop- they forgot to tell us on public holidays the bus runs once every 3-4 hours! none the less we could take a cab for 20 euros and reach the station - however they don't speak english at the station so make sure you have a print out of where you want to take the train to.

Room Tip: we did feel it was a tad expensive, but we had gone on the last week of summer so not complaining about it.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel recently and were very impressed with the overall standard and facilities - particularly for the very reasonable rate we paid. For a 3 star hotel, it is in my opinion, superior to many 4 star hotels. The breakfast, the bar and restaurant are all very good and the reception staff are friendly and very helpful with information about the city. There's also an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court! Rooms are comfortable and of a reasonable size and we would certainly stay here again.

This was a stylish modern hotel in a location just outside the city, but within walking distance.

We arrived less than an hour before the stated check-in time and were a little disappointed to find they couldn't allocate us a room - usually arriving so close would mean a room was available in most hotels we've stayed at. However, they stored our bags whilst we explored the city.

The hotel is a modern stylish hotel with the great facility of a having a decent sized swimming pool - pool towels can be obtained from reception. The wifi signal was strong and bathroom stocked with amenties (not just a tacky soap dispenser on the wall)

The serve yourself breakfast was very good indeed - lots of choice both continental and cooked options.

Check in and check out were efficient and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in Coimbra.

I would like to recommend hotel Dona Ines.If you arrive to Coimbra by car or bus - you will find easily the free parking or the close bus station
The room is very clean and convenient, the breakfast is good and they have a nice pool.
But even above all the good facilities is the amazing staff and service.
During our stay they were very polite and helpful but the pick of the service was after we left.
We forgot in the safe a very important document, I called the hotel and Catarina told !
me she will send immediately the document by special delivery to my new
destination. - she and her manager did it so quickly on the expense of the hotel - even they were not obligated.

So... if you need a place you can count on - this hotel is the place
And thanks again Catarina

This is a really good hotel. Very pleasant helpful staff. Our twin room with a river view was good. Not that the river view was particularly nice, overlooking the railway. The room 612 was a decent size with an OK if a bit dated bathroom. What made this hotel better than most town hotels was the excellent outdoor pool and a great spa. Buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Location of hotel is OK a 20 minute not really nice walk to the old town.
Coimbra itself other than the old Cathedral I was not really impressed with. Struggle to walk anywhere in the old town trying to dodge the cars in the narrow streets and some areas are very run down and scruffy.
This lovely hotel was our saviour in a disappointing city.
