We were on the 5th floor so you could see the church and the university of coimbra from the room. The room was clean and comfy. And walking from the hotel to most tourist attractions are not difficult at all. More
Taking safety measures
The hotel is near the center of Coimbra! A very good thing is that the double room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Food in buffet was always good! The staff is very friendly and smiley! The only serious problem was the fact that the room was not cleaned properly. We found hair inside the toilet and stains in the mirror. Hoping this was an exception and not the rule.

The hotel is located between the intercity station and the downtown area. Taxi will take you there for around 6 euro's. Very convenient. Center is walking distance. The staff make the difference in this hotel. Very friendly people. They take their time to attend you. Rooms are spacious and currently are being upgraded. City offers few options on Sunday, so not really a weekend destination. Old town is worth strolling around. Destination for 2 days stay if you are not here for academic purposes.

Room was a decent size with a nice view over the city from the 5th floor.
Temperature controller in room was not working so room was very cold, and breakfast was very limited, with only one member of staff who would show his face from time to time.

We arrived early in the morning and our room was ready as requested. The staff is warm and welcoming as always. We had lunch with family in the restaurant. Food was delicious and service was great. This is our go-to hotel whenever we are in Coimbra visiting our son.

Stayed for 2 nights for Queima das Fitas academic event. Location is perfect, I left the car in the hotel parking (free valet) and walked every time I needed to go somewhere. Room was very small and in need of refurbishment, with very old cushions and furniture. Bathroom was a hole. I understand the hotel must be in the middle of a renovation process and I did not get a refurbished room, but the room I got was very very bad for a 4-star hotel. Food at breakfast was very good.
