“Fifteen to serve - without a prior booking”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Visited with 14 others ( all divers from our Scuba club) . without prior notice and they responded well .Some large appetites to satisfy and all party gave a thumbs up to the food and speed of service from taking orders to on the table . As said elsewhere - nothing exceptional on the menu , usual Azorean food but no complaints - Rating top end 3 star / bottom end four star......

“Good for the Azores, average by UK standards”
Reviewed October 3, 2013 via mobile

Visited for lunch based on good TripAdvisor reviews. Mushroom soup was lukewarm, salads were uninspiring. Menu was the ubiquitous grilled meat and fish. Service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant itself has good ambience.

“Delicious food, attentive service, good value”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Friendly local restaurant offering good food, service and value. The €15 fixed meal, which changes daily, was excellent –bread, soup, meat/fish, your choice of a local dessert and a glass of wine. The greeted us with a glass of bubbly and sent us on our way with a local dessert wine. Could not be faulted.

“Great place, off the main drag”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

I first ate here five years ago when I was writing a guide to the Azores; it was a great find. Sure, in the Azores, food is much of a muchness, and fish features prominently along with some unusual accompaniments - like hardboiled egg with grilled cod - that would have UK chefs salivating at the insult to gastronomy. But this isn't gastronomy, nor does it pretend to be. It's just plain, honest to good Azorean fare, making best use of what they've got. And it's inexpensive...2 courses for two of us, plus a bottle of Pico wine, and a complimentary glass of fizzy stuff at the outset, came to €43.50...work it out for yourself; that's good.

Lovely atmospheric resto in a quiet back street that you could so easily miss.
