“Food pretty good, service outstanding”

Miguel, our waiter, and Roberto made our experience very positive. It was an off-season Sunday night and this was one of he few places open. We were immediately welcomed and made right at home. In fact, we hung out at the bar with Miguel and Roberto while thy closed up. Two friendlier guys you couldn't ask to meet. We popped by a couple of days later for lunch, but they were closed. Miguel saw us and offered to open up and make lunch for us!

“Attentive service, excellent meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

This restaurant is a little tricky to find - not far from the city gates. The meal started with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine which set a nice mood. The menu was varied enough, but sticking to fish in the Azores is the way to go. Our party tried it all - pork, beef, and fish as well as fish soup appetizer. The usual boil potatoes and uninteresting vegetables accompany the meal so fill up on the bread. Enjoyed a couple bottles of wine, after dinner Irish coffee, cappucinos, and flan for dessert. All for under $100 USD for 4 adults. We were enjoying the attentive service, the atmosphere of the old building with low arches, never noticed the downpour outside. Our server offered us a complimentary pineapple liqueur (I think he noticed the rain and was stalling so we wouldn't leave and get wet). Nice touch.

“Humor with great dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

This place has great food with the best tag team waiters. I have ever met. These two characters have mastered the art of humor with restaurant efficiency. They can run the whole floor by themselves seemingly not breaking a sweat. Alberto claims that Nunu is his son, and togeather the both of them will amuse with delight. It was really fun eating there. The fish was excellent but the homemade deserts were to die for. We actually stopped in one night just for coffee and desert. They offer a tourist menue with a glass of wine, main course, coffee and desert for about 14 uros.
It was a great value and really fun to boot! Obrigado!

“Best food in town. I loved the lapas grelhadas.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Everytime that I am visiting Ponta Delgada, I always have the lapas grelhadas. The atmosphere is great, good service and the best food in town. I have tried fish, meat and I am always surprised with the quality. Keep up the good work.
