“Lovely little town”
Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

This town is a must go to. The thermal springs are in a gorgeous surrounding and its well worth a trip to the terra nostra park. Be sure to try the local dish cozido which is cooked in the ground. We went by car and the one way system makes it hard to find everythingbut there is loads to see. We stopped by the lake for a while and it's one of few that u can get close to without having to hike for hours.

“Furnas Golf Course”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

I had the pleasure of playing the Furnas Golf Course this Summer, and it is a very well looked after course, and it was a pleasure to play. The setting is lovely, and it's a bit like being in a large green coloured garden. The solution with the driving range is a bit strange, but the course in itself is definitely worth visiting.

“Go...very interesting place”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Off the beaten path in Sao Miguel but worth it. Please, go to the Terra Nostra Gardens. Totally worth it, absolutely stunning. Make sure to take an old bathing suit and have a soak in the hot spring fed pool there.

“Small town with lot of geothermal activity”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

Plenty of "caldeiras" (volcanic ouflows of sulfuric (foul smelling) gaz). Food can be cooked on the caldeiras ("Cocido") and it is actually very good. Furnas Lake has on one end some caldeiras (alwas with some pots cooking...); it is possible to walk around the lake in a couple of hours.
