My husband was disappointed the Piri Piri chicken wasn't hotter! That is the only grumble. Other reviews have covered what to expect with regard to the food served so I won't go over that, suffice to say it is excellent. Don't go there if you want a choice of menu, fancy setting, although I think sitting under the arches watching the world go by takes some beating, there are plenty of expensive tourist restaurants for that. Will be returning for dinner on each subsequent visit. Husband wasn't disappointed when the bill came!!!!

A simple restaurant outside the market, don't expect a table all to yourself everyone sits where there is room, I think this makes the restaurant simple but charming. There is no menu its just chicken or whatever fish was cheap in the market that day. Food is excellent and they do the best chips around. They give you a free plate of typical algarvian treats - almonds, figs and orange- lovely. Price was amazing under €20 euros for 3 courses!

A simple restaurant but it has the best piri piri chicken we have had on the Algarve!
Visited here many times in the winter with my husband and also with family, including small children, they were very welcoming. It is always busy.
The food is consistently good, fresh salad, lovely BBQd chicken, and home made chips, all served with decent wine.
Waiters are friendly, there is a buzz about the place, great atmosphere even if you are sitting on the pavement.
Very good value.

From the outside, this place looks weird - its just a bunch of tables sitting outside, they don't even have any indoor seating. Some of the tables are long, so you might find yourself sitting next to someone you don't know if its busy. And it'll be busy.

Forget the appearance - nobody comes here for the decorations or the ambience. They come for the chicken, and its absolutely superb. They don't even have a menu - you can have chicken. Or sometimes they do fish also, but basically don't go there if you don't eat chicken!

Everything is cooked on a huge barbeque in front of you - the smell of all the half chickens cooking away is delicious. The chickens are served with fries, you can have some bread, cheese and salad too. The chicken will all be chopped up into manageable pieces and served in one big dish for your party.

Its all very simple food, served in a very simple location - but it all tastes amazing, and costs next to nothing. In the nice weather it'll generally be very busy.

Its hard to describe this place really - you just need to go try it.

We 2 found this Restaurant by chance. Drawn by the smells of the chicken being grilled on the pavement. It was very busy just a few tables free on our entrance. Strictly chicken with or without Piri Piri. Good mix of Nationalities all eating in a traditional relaxed informal way. We were served carrots , olives & bread. Mixed salad & sharing plate of chicken & chips. With dried fruit & nuts to finish. Half a carafe of wine & a bottle of water. All freshly cooked. The waiters were very polite & friendly. 18 euros in total. We will definitely return.
