Another recommendation from a local, this time our surfing guy, and what a treat again. If in the mood for something else tjen grilled fish while in Sagres, this Mexican style resto is a great idea. The tropical chicken and oven baked octopus (I know it is fish but prept differently) were great. Prices were good and service quick and friendly! A hidden gem

Great little place. Family run and authentic portugese food. Excellent quality food with a great price tag... One to keep coming back to.

This restaurant is very simple but the food exceeds your expectations. The decor is minimal, and the television was on, but we had no complaints about the service or the meal. My companion was very pleased with the chicken with tropical fruits while I had a more traditional octopus marinara. Salad and a decent white wine made for an enjoyable and inexpensive meal. Recommended for good value.

Don't be put off by the lack of decor. This small restaurant worth a visit. Unpretentious home cooking well presented, tasty and cheap. Perfect for lunch.
Ask the owner for his recommendation: he will suggest dishes which are not on the menu. I had a fabulous fish-prawn-chorizo main course (see picture) with a delicious caraway-figues and almond cake for dessert + drink all together for 16€
A real bargain.

Went to A Grelha for dinner, purely excited by the high trip advisor rating but we were a bit disappointed.
The starter selection is a limited choice and catering to the unimaginative tourist... Garlic bread was soggy, prawn cocktail was half an avocado with a few prawns hanging out for 7 Euros.
The cod cataplana was tasty, if a bit salty. Don't go for the more expensive wine.. It was sharply acidic and made for an awkward start to our dinner.
The service was humble and professional. The ambience was one of hushed conversation in a functional tiled room with low volume TV in the background: more like a cafe.
We have been to other restaurants in Sagres which, despite lower ratings on tripadvisor were classier whilst similarly priced.
