“Needs more care and attention.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2012

Course was an interesting design (Sir Henry Cotton) but when we plaed it was showin a lack of love. Weeds in the tee boxes and bare patches of mud on some of the fairways. Indeed, we had to play a rule that if your ball was laying on a dirt patch where there should be grass then you could have a free drop! It may be that we played at the end of the season (oct) but even so was below the standard i would expect for a Championship course.

“Poor condition”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

It didn't help that before we played there had been a downpour but for a golf course that describes their jewel as the "Championship" course, I don't expect bare patches, poor maintenance and couch grass on the tees. I played this course 5 years ago and don't remember it being so poor. I also found the holes to be a little boring and not too different from each other - it takes more than a little strategically positioned water hazards to make a good golf course. I won't be coming back again.
We also found it highly amusing that metal spikes were not allowed but then they allowed buggies onto the course (90 degree rule) after a downpour from the heavens - I was so surprised when they didn't instruct everybody to stay to the paths. They did loan me a pair of soft-spiked shoes though as they didn't have any soft spikes to sell me!

“Great Course”

First class condition only problem was slow play. I don't think everyone who plays this course holds a handicap
