“Amaaaaaaaazing chicken piri piri and steak on stone!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

This place is off the beaten track but if you want fresh home cooked food its worth the visit. The chicken pirir piri and stew ion the stone is to die for. The actual restaurant is not fancy but Senior Silva does the most amazing smoked duck starter and tapenade. Don't expect fast food commercial meals here, this is a true Portuguese experience and one of my favourites in Lagos.

“Great Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2014

Visited with three friends for lunch at this nice little restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We can recommend any of the following dishes we had: Grilled Tuna, Sirloin Steak, Goulasch and Chicken Piri Piri. You will not be disappointed.

“A Lagos must for the Best Fillet Steak on the Stone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

What a lovely Portuguese restaurant in Praça do Poder Local area, just a few minutes stroll from the Vilabranca Apartments. Varied and interesting menu, all self-made! This is a great restaurant serving fresh food which is delicious and the ambience very pleasant. The menu is on a blackboard outside with his speciality of the day and the menu changes daily so we ate a different meal each night we dined there. Silva and Villia the owners are clearly passionate about their food and Silva buys the best from the farmers. His knowledge and passion for his food and wine are brilliant, and the combination of flavours created are magical to the taste buds. He is a wonderful host, his hospitality and enthusiasm for the food is exquisite, a medley of lovely tastes served on each plate that we devoured! Nothing is any bother to him he takes it in his stride with a laugh. He takes pride in his covert and this is so different to the usual coverts you get in Lagos. We felt the environment was very friendly, the service was prompt and Silva and Villia so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. And all at a very reasonable price. And not forgetting the Medronho that Silva gives you to finish off your meal and according to him it is the best! We always visit this superb restaurant every time we are in Lagos and now we go at least 2 nights during our stay. This couple that run this lovely restaurant are excellent and so welcoming and funny and I can highly recommend this place. Try the fillet steak on the stone with his 2 homemade sauces-the best in Lagos and finish it off with one of Villia’s homemade desserts.

“A hidden gem with lovely owners/chefs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Really worth seeking out this little restaurant in Lagos. My husband loves the fillet steak on a stone and the chicken piri piri is the best we have tasted in several years in the Algarve. The cover is smoked duck, with homemade pesto & a great grilled cheese. The chef likes to innovate and we have asked him for his daily specials - grouper was great. King prawns in a saffron sauce were sublime. It can't seat many, but the service is leisurely and you are not rushed out in under an hour.
