“Nothing to see in the off-season”
Reviewed February 10, 2014

We came in the off-season (february) so the entrance to the beach/cliffs was closed and thus there was nothing interesting to see. As opposed to Ponte da Piedade - this was not very impressive.

Perhaps in the summer, when you can actually swim, you can consider this attraction.

“beautiful beach, but possibly overrated?”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Gorgeous red/orange cliffs and studded with large rocks. Good for photographers. I was surprised at how relatively short the beach was (about a 10-minute walk from end to end), compared to some of the others in the area. (I read the TripAdvisor reviews before visiting and perhaps was expecting too much!) I was much more impressed with the dramatic views and walking/hiking trails on the cliffs of Ponta de Piedade just down the road.

“Breathtakingly beautiful”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

What a beautiful spot! The views from the hills are spectacular and after climbing down to the water you are rewarded with a gorgeous sandy beach. The rock formations are spectacular.
We visited on a sunny windless winter day so the beach was nearly deserted.
The beach is within walking distance from town which is a real bonus.

“Great beach for after the caves!”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

We stopped at this beach after our boat cave tour at Ponta da Piedade--you actually go past this and Camillo Beach. We chose Dona Ana because it is a bit longer and has one restaurant, so not really commercial--just nice to be able to have a beverage and/or bit on a hot afternoon after a long walk along the cliffs! One natural resource Portugal can certainly boast about is its beaches--they are all awesome--especially a touch off-season such as in October when it is still hot and the beaches aren't too busy! :-)
