“Lovely beach, but very busy”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

We spotted this beach from a walk over the cliffs (I've uploaded the photo), and decided to drop in. It's a beautiful beach with soft sand, two coves and a lovely aspect with the cliffs, rocks and sea stacks. When the tide is in (it was about an hour before high tide when we visited) the beach drops away quite quickly, so the water gets deep quite quickly - worth knowing if you are going with children. Access is by wooden steps down the cliff from the car park

There's a very pleasant bar/restaurant in the second cove (also accessible by steps from above) that sells snacks, drinks and ice creams - and remarkably not very expensive.

The downside, if there is one, is that gets very very busy, and it's frequently difficult to park.

If you like sandy coves in the cliff with rock pools and don't mind the steep steps and a busy beach, it's worth visiting. If you prefer open sand, shallower water, more space and relatively easy parking, try Meia Praia beach on the other side of Lagos.

“Ok beach”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

This was the first beach we saw in Lagos, arriving there quite late, around 6 PM. The sun was already going away, so were the people so the beach was rather deserted. Beautiful view with the rocks, warm water suitable for bathing even in the evening, but rocks in the water so watch out! Also, wavy, so you can't swim too far.

“Beautiful beach!!!”

This was our favourite beach in the Algarve. get there early to get a good spot and lovely photos whilst its quiet. Food wasn't bad at all at the restaurant on the beach front, so if you get hungry you don't have to go to far to eat.

worth more than just one visit :)

“Beautiful but get their early!”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

Lovely scenic beach with crystal clear water. We arrived mid morning as we had got the train through and walked to Praia Dona Ana. We managed to get a reasonable spot but not long after the beach was packed with many people coming down for a space and having to leave. We brought our own food so can't comment on the services avaliable.
