“sandy beach between rough rocks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

praia dona ana is one of the nicest beaches at the algarve and very near to lagos. the panorama view is extraordinary and the water is crystalclear. the beach is easy reachable over a wooden stair. because lagos is near, it is better to arrive there in the morning time. there is no vegetation on the beach and a parasol and sunprotection is necessary. the steep coast behind the beach spends shadow, but sometimes the steep coast is dangerous, because big rocks fall down. it is better to stay away from these shady places. praia dona ana is a hotspot for nearly all the tourists in this area and is high frequentated during the whole day, but we can recomment this place very much.

A little difficult to find and the steps down were not best maintained but a lovely spot once down there.

“Best to visit this fantastic beach just out of season”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

If you visit here in May it's hot and sunny and uncrowded but the water is very cold....your feet will start to go numb after about ten minutes in the sea; the best time to come and visit is probably September/ October when the sea's at its warmest and there are much fewer people around. It's November 15th today and yesterday I went in swimming there and the water's starting to get cold again but I had the whole beach to myself at 4pm! Then up the road to the local bar O Amigo for it's happy hours (5pm to 8pm). A really beautiful and blissful beach when it's not crowded. Beach cafe/bar with bathroom facilities and lifeguards only available in the high season.

This place is just awesome! Its natural beauty is phenomenal. We couldn't get enough of it! The water there is crystal clear, the rock formations are wonderful, the sand is golden coloured.
