We stayed July 2014. The villas were perfect for our needs though an oven would have made it even better. It was very comfortable and quiet. The villa was cleaned every 2 days, very thoroughly, new towels each time too. The pool was great and Anna at the pool bar was very sweet, with very tasty food with super value for money. Some of the receptionists were very curt, bordering on rude but the youngest was sweet and helpful. The restaurant area could certainly do with a makeover and an updated menu. The bar was old but that added to its charm. The staff were very friendly there. It's a very child friendly place. The walk to the town is about 10/15 mins, same to any of the beaches. There are local buses though we couldnt quite work out the timetable and the receptionist gave no help on that score. A taxi however, was no more than a fiver to the town. The restaurants in Lagos were top class, with the best holiday food we've had for years (not the restaurant in the Ancora). We would certainly go again.

We stayed at Ancora Park apartments just recently and was surprised for a three star what good value it was.
I will get the negatives out the way first, we were not told that it is cash only for food and drink,
Our room was only cleaned twice in a week, the older receptionist was rude and English very poor,
Just didn't want to help.

But the positives are that all the other staff were just lovely, the bar, poolside cafe lady, the younger receptionist who was so good at her job.the little villas are charming, and the roof top Terrace was a lovely extra, the whole place is very clean and the gardens very well kept, worth a visit

Room Tip: Block D, nice and quite

We have stayed 14days at Ancora Park.
The hotel may not be the most modern, but in perfect order and very clean
The kitchenette is well equipped, bathroom was recently renovated- but lacking a hair dryer.
Highlight of each house are the two terraces- unfortunately the view down to the beach is a bit disturbed by an old hotel ruin.
Two beaches can be reached within 15min by foot. If you dont want to walk, you can swim in the olympic sized pool, while your kids play in the smaller kids pool.
We only tried the dinner buffet once- which was quite cheap but tasteless.
We went to the city for dinner instead- walking distance of 25mins. So having a car is more convenient- especially to explore other beautiful places around Lagos!

I never stay in 3 star hotels but I chance it this time and was pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in a villa where we found everything we need. specious bedroom (mattress was very hard!) with big wardrobe and mirror table.
Nice clean bathroom. Comfortable small kitchen with main applicants, dished & TV. Also nice terrace where you can sunbath.
We had breakfast in the terrace every morning and BBQs in the evenings. Villa was cleaned every day like in any other hotel.
Big nice pool (you can get large beach/pool towels in reception but have to leave 20 euro deposit). Wifi in reception only. Receptionists not very enthusiastic but helpful.
Bar and restaurant not very welcoming so we never went there. Close to the beach. Good value for money!

Room Tip: Take villa not room in main building.

Just returned from a week's stay at the Ancora Sun Place appartments. Great size rooms, well appointed kitchenette (everything looked new) and the rooftop private terrace was an unexpected bonus-perfect for a sunny breakfast and evening drink at sunset. All newly painted and very clean with cheery bedmakers/towel change ladies calling each day.
Location is excellent too if you don't mind the walk -ten minutes to a fantastic beach and fifteen minutes into town. Lovely gardens and amazing swimming pool. Bar a bit disappointing but it was only the beginning of the season I suppose.
